  1. Looking at that in detail, im luckily avoiding the shipping and and import duties as ill get a family member to bring them with on their next trip.
  2. Good day hubbers Im reaching out to the tech savy hubbers out there that might be able to tell me what is the difference between XT brakes. I am looking to get a new set of brakes for my MTB and narrowed it down to the XT version. I am probably going to order them online from the UK as they seem to be a bit cheaper. However, I noticed that there are different versions of the same brake available. i.e. M9000, M988 and M987, M785, all under the XT version. Could some please enlighten me as to the difference between the models. Thanks
  3. Some weird batch selection taking place this time. Starting in G batch, usually in the C or D batch. Oh well, luckly it wont be as hot as last year.
  4. My arm warmers have a light fleece linning to them so they are definately armers.
  5. Base layer vest, paired with a normal short sleeve cycling shirt. I have a Craft windbreaker/waterproof(ish) jacket that have sleeves that zip off. I usually take the sleeves off and wear arm warmers. The Craft jacket was a bit of an expense but well worth it in the end. Oh and knee warmers are to start the ride off with. The main part is that it must be able to fold up small enough to fit in a back pocket or camel back.
  6. Good day all Im looking for a bike courier company that could provide transport for roughly 17 bikes. From Johannesburg to George, then from Cape Town back to Johannesburg. The trip is planned for early September. Any recomendations on companies to use ?
  7. Hi Maxxis Thank you very much for the response. I have done all of the above and they made the world of difference, especially the saddle.
  8. I have a few upgrades are the cards at the moment, one of them being new brakes. The bike currently has Elixer 3 on and I find them less than adequate. I dont have much spare cash burning a hole, im just working on progressive upgrades to make a better overall package over time that suits my riding style and what works for me. I didnt have a funds when i bought the bike to buy the latest and greatest parts so I decided to do it as a gradual build to bring it up to a better spec.
  9. May I enquire what you paid for them ?
  10. Im experiencing the same thing on my 3X10 at the moment, is one of the rings on your 2X10 the same size as your middle one was on your 3X10
  11. Thanks for the feed back, think im going to pass on this upgrade. would rather put the money towards a 2X10 conversion, currently on a 3X10. 30 gears is far to much choice in my opinion.
  12. I was thinking of doing the whole wheel sets but that will cost lots of Mandelas. I dont think the hubs i have on now are Free hubs (I think thats the correct term) as they dont make that clicking/humming sound when i free wheel. Is that what a hub should sound like ?
  13. Good day fellow hubbers Iv been browsing the net lately for some upgrades for my BMC TeamElite TE2 29er. One of them being a new set of hubs. The bike currently has bottom of the range Shimano hubs and they seem to be working fine (when I pedal, the bike moves in a forwardly direction). So I was wondering if upgrading them is worth spending the few thousand rand on, i.e do thay make that much of a difference ?. From the beginning of June I will be doing a lot more riding in preperation for a multi day ride in September. I will also be doing as many races as possible in that period. Thanks.
  14. Does anyone know when the results are coming out for the race. Nothing is appearing on the site as yet>
  15. I have the SLX 3 X10 but i almost never use the small ring.
  16. Bought a Shabali over the week end, such a comfy helmet.
  17. Bought the Team Elite 29 SLX on saturday.
  18. BMC all the way. Great looking frame with top notch components all round.
  19. Contacted Arran today about his recommendations on a frame size for a new MTB I'm looking at. Not only did he reply to my email quickly, he offered to see me this evening to tough a few measurements free of charge. This is what I call a professionally run opperation with a great customer orientation. Definitely going to them for a proper fitment ones I've purchased the new toy.
  20. Who else in the JHB area sells them ?
  21. Gee, thats a very useful wife...real life product testing. Im a firm beliver that if a helmet looks trashed after a crash then its done the job correctly.
  22. Thanks Stretch, pitty they are not in my area but i will give them a call.
  23. Looks like those guys are only doing the higher end models, not the SLX version. will give them a call though.
  24. Looking for dealers in the JHB area who can give me a good price on he above bike.
