a funny story... my uncles Yeti was stolen off the back of his bakkie a week before he was going to ride the Epic, he managed to get a replacement bike for the race but a few days later he is driving down one of the main roads in jhb and unbelievably this dodgy looking character guy is riding his bike down the street, so he somehow drives him off the bike while hold this guy and stopping the bike from falling onto the street, he stops the bakkie, ties the oke to the roll bar puts his bike on back of the bakkie and drives to the cop station and arrests the oke that's how it's done!

get the Zoot Compression socks that don't cover your feet, just your calves, they will be fine under your wetsuit, don't wear socks on the bike! that's what i do anyway!

since i got my LG tri shoes i NEVER wear socks, even for 150k + training rides, i have gotten to the point of not being able to ride with socks cause it feels weird. i also run 30 + km's without socks, you get blisters the first 4 or 5 runs but after that your skin toughens up, i am saving a lot of money on socks that get holes in very quickly, even the 'run' specific socks don't last very long. just get a good shoe powder for the hygiene purposes
