  1. I'm in. Can Robert send us the How, What, etc? Less talk...........Let's take Action!
  2. Their MO. https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/136613-kyamandi-not-safe-anymore/
  3. SAPS is very well aware of this problem and nothing has been done. Kayamandi is a known hotspot and there are numerous feeds on the HUB warning people to avoid it. We also use the Devonvale detour and Kromme Rhee (only to see now that KR is also a hot spot!). Ladies I am glad you are ok - but agreed we need to do something! We used to love riding along there to Stellies for breakfast and they have taken this away from us all. Why should we be intimidated and become victims! How can we pool together and take that road back?! Cameras? Songo? ............? .............? There has to be a way!
  4. (In Campy of course

We started in PA. And as we hit that tunnel people were being blown off. It was like hitting a wall! We had to walk through and even that was difficult.

It was for some of us at the back end of the race.
  11. Is it a Spiral Conic?
  12. Another guy kicked off his bike passing Kyamandi before 7 this morning. He managed to get away after a horrible fall. Watch out. Seems the MO is one guy walks on the left hand side and two on the right hand side of the road. As he approached the 2 guys pretended to cross the road and kicked him off his bike. Rather choose a different route. Plus I just found this article! http://www.dieburger.com/nuus/2014-02-13-ng-n-fietsryer-op-r304-by-kayamandi-aangeval
  13. I just found this online too! http://www.dieburger.com/nuus/2014-02-13-ng-n-fietsryer-op-r304-by-kayamandi-aangeval

  16. I agree - Absolute respect for them - they have worked to be there! But sjoe - us fun riders are definitely in a league of our own with a whole different set of challenges. We however survived to ride another day and still love it!
  17. You guys are all machines. Us novices at the back (W) only got away at 7h15 - and keeping in mind that Novice = Blerrie stadig - we were DYING back there. We stopped at every water stop and bought coke at the now famous Perdeberg Mall! It saved our lives!! Sadly we got to 80km and they told us the race (I use this word lightly) was over. People were dropping like flies. We pushed on till 90 (the final water point) where we had to accept defeat. By then we had been at it for over 4 hours and the one guys thermometer was registering 44! My worst tho was that once we had finally arranged a lift out and were heading home they had pulled the marshals off and there was a guy who had missed the turn off at the last 4 way before the final water point and was thinking he was on the right road home! We turned back to give him the news and desperately needed water. I keep wondering where he would be now if no one had stopped him. I can't understand how the marshals and sweepers missed him.
