  1. In that scenario, the Argus time of 3:55 comparatively to the Burger performance would possibly harm your Burger Seeding, that and the time gap between your last race and Die Burger.
  2. I got seeded E with no prior Burgers. i was also very average in the Argus. What I did do, was the One tonner in horrible conditions, and that might have bumped me into E. Not sure what other races she might have done, Just a shame I couldnt take advantage of being "E"
  3. I started in E, which I wasn't ready for as I was off the bike for 4 weeks. I managed to stay with a fast pack until R44 at 31 ave. I was also sleeping and dropped the group on R44. Rode to finish solo. Was too unfit to grab another group. Ended with a 3:30 Sent via Tapatalk on Xperia T
  4. scary, glad he is ok
  5. Group E, is that a good thing? I feel im too slow for it
  6. I might be joining you all as well. been off the bike for 4 weeks, except the 80km Lagoon ride I did on sat, so hopefully be able to keep up
  7. Wow, those times are incredible. As an utter Noob, who only started cycling 2 months ago, I can say that just finishing yesterday was an incredible feeling. Physically the toughest day that I have ever experienced, and it adds some great perspective. Definitely boosts confidence when faced with 100km races in normal conditions. I might have been swearing at myself for 3 hours when riding solo into the wind, but was worthit.
  8. Can't believe I finished it. Super tough. Woohoooo Sent via Tapatalk on Xperia T
  9. Scared to death. Looking outside the window, our flagpoles are perfectly horizontal in this wind at the moment. Trying to imagine riding in that on Sunday. anyhow, whats the worse that can happen, you bail out mid ride. How often does buses of shame come around to collect people?

  11. I told my wife I have to leave her every weekend for a few hours to train for this race, no way im backing out
  12. WeatherSA: Stellies 14 knots, 15 gusts Windguru " 14 knots with 20 gusts Accuweather: SSE 29 km/h Gusts: 42 km/h
  13. ok, so Im a bit afraid now of this event. I did a couple of 110 to 130km rides in the past 2 months, always solo, or with no packs/drafting. I also do much more climbing in my training than in this route. But will that be enough? I dont know the route, and due to an injured wrist, couldnt do a recon ride last week. Is wind the main negative factor? Lastly, I want to improve my argus seeding, I currently have a terrible one, as I only had 3 weeks to train before my last Argus, and only got a 4:15.
  14. @uni. I agree. There is a bit of distortion regarding the two diameters. Alot of that will depend of the slope from the one diameter to the other. However, the gap between the 2 diameters is so minimal that it's negligable. The only risk is if the text might be to skinny if it's meant to stretch over a curve that appears flat from the side. All you do in that case is stretch the artwork and retry Sent via Tapatalk on Xperia T now Free

  16. Hey guys, my 2 cents. I think this is being overcomplicated. Based on a 17mm CAP height limit, and general wheel circumference, just design it flat, print it out 1:1 on some paper, cut and check to see if it makes sense. Worse case scenario, add some perspective distortion, or stretch/shrink cap height accordingly. You can either spend forever doing maths, or you can print, test fit on paper and adjust. Vinyl Cut on some decent cast vinyl that can stretch and conform and get someone with some experience to apply it. i did a quick design based on what you asked. http://i1251.photobucket.com/albums/hh545/nazmo/RIGIDWHEEL1_zps06085b95.jpg
  17. Sprained my right thumb this week. Doc says I should stick to spinning bike until next week. Seriously disappointed Any how. ' enjoy guys. I'll have to do recon next week Sent via Tapatalk on Xperia T
  18. get to the race early, their is always a pitstop where they can sort, just bring cash along
  19. Is GU considered food? i.e. Can you do a 5 hour ride with a big bottle of water, bottle of energy drink, and a GU for each 45 mins and nothing else?
  20. I did a 120km yesterday, one bottle 32GI, one water. one banana, one fruit bar and half a packet of woolies baby potatoes that you microwave. I finished em all!
  21. Im doing it as a seeding race actually
  22. Information still all good below wannabe? Proposed date: 05 October 2013. Two weeks before the One Tonner. No races on the weekend, as the Nelsons Creek Race was cancelled. Two weeks after the K2C, so the guys will be recovered. Two weeks also ample time to recover for the actual One Tonner on 20/10/2013 Time: 06H30 !? Start venue: Shopping Complex at foot of Helshoogte (there is ample and safe parking) Riding Pace: The pace will be quite relaxed. It is an Recce Ride, not a race. Race Snakes can form their own group and go ahead. Backup Vehicle: Berry has offered a vehicle and driver as backup, so bring your extra "mix" and food with. ALSO BRING A FEW RANDELAS WITH TO HELP PAY FOR THE FUEL.
  23. So weather looking great this upcoming weekend
  24. thats cheating!
  25. I agree, as long as we all meet and talk. I also think we must just stick together, whether its 2 or 3 groups, groups musnt split
