  1. Hi Brooksie, it seems that the prologue for this year is only at the meerendal trails. You can basically park there, purchase a pass and ride the trails.
  2. Hi, I would purchase a winelands holiday permit which gives you acces to all the trails south of Stellenbosch to Somerset. https://winelandscyclingclub.co.za/mountain-biking , other options are southey vines mtb trail, which is a small xc trail to do loops and then just the local streets, plenty of hills to climb.
  3. I Would stay away, cable actuated brakes which have no feeling, it doesn't say if the fork is air or coil, you would want an air fork and these bikes are usually poorly built which will cost a lot of maintenance to get it right and going. Try and get one of these bikes on bikehub, size dependant. https://bikehub.co.za/classifieds/c/mountain-bikes?minimum_price=5000&maximum_price=9000
  4. Can you elaborate?
  5. My one friend is an Agricultural seed merchant driving to George basically every week from Somerset. He has a bakkie and thule x3 bike carrier, I can ask him if you can join him to George? dm me your number.
  6. I did my first Epic, From December til March I was averaging about 60 hours of riding with 20,000m elevation per month. Every weekend we did heat training at z2 intensity and multiple long days in the saddle. I did lack a bit of intensity, but as we were only riding to finish and not race it wasn't that crucial. The Wednesday was proper hot and brutal but if you stopped and refuelled at all the water points and had a hydration pack, you should have been fine to ride.
  7. you can see they used a design template for the mock ups
  8. the clear gel one.
  9. The Island Tribe clear gel lotion works wonders for me. If you sweat a lot it still stays on your skin and protects.
  10. Only activities that originate from a garmin device will upload to Vitality through garmin express, no secondary uploads.
  11. Yes from next year you can ride anytime. I don't know how day passes wil work or if even will be available but Noel from clay pigeon shooting can be contacted for more info.
  12. Memberships are sold out. Membership can have x4 riders and can cycle anytime of the week now.
  13. Hi, your wheel is buckled, either a damaged spoke or spoke tension is incorrect. LBS will be able to pull straight.
  14. If you have a trailer you can add a bike carrier on top. Works like a bomb and super cheap. Bike caddy has nice options, you can also get through axle fork clamps as well. Only thing is front wheels need to be stored somewhere: https://bikehub.co.za/classifieds/item/bike-racks/758796/bike-caddy-carrier-for-trailer
  15. Our Team needs another rider, social pace 27 average and full team finish together. Let me know who wants to join. Lekker group of guys. DM me for details.
  16. Am I seeing this correctly, will cross country events limit bikes to only 100mm suspension?
  17. All sorted, a friendly Hubber has a spare which he donated.
  18. Hi, any shop where I could get only the laces, mine snapped but was able to re use it but my shoe is a little too tight so need a longer lace.
  19. If you have x 2 lights use the one on your bike and charge the other with a powerbank inside your backpack as you cycle, swap out as they go flat. Lights should be 900 lumens or brighter.
  20. $100 for the cage bottle combo, but can be used with round bottle as well. The aero bottle is 1,8 watts faster than normal system😂
  21. Yes, but a sport pre soak rejuvenates the fabric which helps it keep longer.
  22. My advice will be to start using a sport pre soak and make sure the washing machine has no softener left from previous washes. We've done some research on this and saw due to fabrics being compression, lighter and more breathable it's susceptible to go see through especially if it's cheaper lycra.
  23. As a member I think Lourensford has wonderful trails but I tend to agree they are difficult to direct as it's taken me 3 months to learn the farm. The massive storm destroyed a lot of the markers which they seem to be fixing each week. Trailforks has a good indication of the trail network Trailforks but I would suggest trying to join a member to get the best flow of trails. Anyone can message me if they would want to ride, I don't mind to showcase the great trails.
  24. I made one at my local machinist. Otherwise try richie spares here on bikehub.
