No Doubt....

Pulled the trigger yesterday on the ZTR Flow EX rims. Took my ZTR Olympic wheelset to CWC and booked in for the rebuild. Today I got a call from CWC informing me that I will need new spokes and nipples as the spokes are 4mm too short. All the calculators I used, showed a 1mm variance between the two rims, no matter what lace configuration used. Needless to say I will now be a further +-R1000 out of pocket. Peeved I am!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks 2Nuz. Thought it may be the top cap bushing which is worm. Just concerned that if it does this out-of-the box, what will it be doing in 6 months from now.

I recently acquired a new Rockshox Reverb Dropper Post, and out of the box, it has play at the seat mount. If I hold the post and move the seat, it has a little bit of side to side play. I have checked the seat mountings and they seem fine. The play seems to be at the top of the seatpost. Is this normal? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I had exactly your problem when replacing a stem and handlebar. Turned out I needed a spacer, as my stem was slightly longer, on the steerer. A +-R45 fix.

Speed is your friend.....when you attempt to ride slowly over most obstacles, "Murphy" will take that as a sign that you are ready for a little "lie down"....;-)

Yup. My sentiments exactly.

After further research and input from various local cycle shops, it seems as if I'll need to replace nipples only. Not sure about Arch to Flow as the erd difference between them is 5mm, whereas Olympic to Flow is only 1mm. Was hoping to use the same nipples and maybe shortening the spokes(First Prize, cost wise).

Could new nipples cater for the 1mm deficit?

Thanks Hairy. Trying to save costs, don't mind getting new nipples, but spokes are not in the budget. Spelling:-(

Nice app....just not sure regarding the lacing pattern question though. But, thanks for this info helps a lot. Notice, from the calculation result, that the spokes would need to be about 1mm longer

Can any of you, who are in the know, tell me whether I would be able to use the same spokes and nipples if I want to exchange my ZTR Olympic rims with Ztr Flow rims? I currently have Hope Pro 2 Hubs and DT Swiss Spokes. Thanks in advance.

I am looking for a good/excellent quality LP by "The Gladiators", titled - "Trenchtown MixUp", released on the "Virgin" label in 1976. The CD is readily available, but the LP has eluded me so far.

Even though I do not participate a lot on the forum, I have bought a frame and rear sus(eft), fork(cash in hand), hrm(eft), 2 x wheelsets(cash in hand), handlebars(cash in hand) and rear derailleur(cash in hand). I have also sold a few odds and ends(cash in hand). Thanks to all the hubbers I have dealt with for being honest and trustworthy.

I have bought and sold quite a few items on the hub, ranging from a frame to a derailleur without any problems. Thanks to all the honest and trustworthy people...keep it up.
