  1. Just remember to hit the jumps on the right, to compensate for the drift to the left
  2. Get him to come collect the bike. Tie him up and wait for the money to clear. When it doesn't, beat him up, call the police and tell them you caught him trying to steal your bike.
  3. I purchased a reverb post last year. My previous seatpost was similar specs to your current one. The 420mm, with 125mm drop, reverb seatpost is perfect for me. It inserts into the frame perfectly, so as not to be at the minimum insertion mark and the 125mm drop is more than enough to get the saddle out of the way, when required. One of the best purchases I made all year.
  4. Cool. I'm going to enter, online, tomorrow. I'll be the person on the Black Merida AM bike, loitering at the back at the start
  5. http://www.tygerbergmtb.co.za/online-orders/funrideentries.html Lots of uphills.....it's also know as the fun"push" , but the ride through the reserve is fun. Not technical though. I'm thinking of riding it, but will wait at the start to let the crowd go, that way I can enjoy the down ride without moving roadblocks. Let me know if you are going.
  6. The climbs suck. I normally use the corridor, opposite Meerendal, to enter the trails. So the first bit of uphill is ok, but by the time I reach Contermanskloof, I've had enough of going up. But, having said that, I feel the fun to be had on the "downside" is worth it. I am considering using the other corridor through ntida into hillcrest, as I think it may be slightly easier. Are you riding the clubs "Funride" on Sunday?
  7. I have riden most of Contermans including the Mainline, not including the gap jumps though. Found parts of the mainline a bit much for my ride and my body. Been riding the Bloemendaal trails lately, and find them great fun, without too much risk.
  8. Which trail do you normally ride at Contermanskloof?
  9. Excellent. Have you tried the Bloemendaaler yet?
  10. Hi TrApT I am in the same boat. This could have been my ad . Are you a member of TMTBC(Tygerberg MTB Club)?
  11. My vote goes to "Recycles" in Durban Road. All round good experience when visiting them in the past.
  12. Neils Wheels...Where every deal is a "steal".....
  13. Same happened to me. Had to fork out an extra R1000+, due to new spokes and nipples for both wheels. Had done all the legwork regarding erd, spoke length, nipple type, etc. Was going to only need to rebuild the hubs onto new rims, nothing else needed to change. This was verified by various parties, including some of our esteemed professional wheelbuilders resident on TheHubSA. I relayed this info when dropping of the wheels for rebuild. On collection....bang.....blindsided!!!!! Won't be back to that LBS, ever!!!! Expensive mistake they made, as I am in the market for a new ride for me and for my daughter at the end of the year.
  14. Posted comments as a heads up, to other unsuspecting victims, who might be lurking in the shadows, contemplating a rim rebuild.
  15. Pulled the trigger yesterday on the ZTR Flow EX rims. Took my ZTR Olympic wheelset to CWC and booked in for the rebuild. Today I got a call from CWC informing me that I will need new spokes and nipples as the spokes are 4mm too short. All the calculators I used, showed a 1mm variance between the two rims, no matter what lace configuration used. Needless to say I will now be a further +-R1000 out of pocket. Peeved I am!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  16. Thanks Skott5. Didn't notice it while riding.....only thing I noticed was how wide my smile has become
  17. Thanks BigWheelMTB and YUMEYA......mind at ease now Enjoyed it for the first time yesterday
  18. Thanks 2Nuz. Thought it may be the top cap bushing which is worm. Just concerned that if it does this out-of-the box, what will it be doing in 6 months from now.
  19. I recently acquired a new Rockshox Reverb Dropper Post, and out of the box, it has play at the seat mount. If I hold the post and move the seat, it has a little bit of side to side play. I have checked the seat mountings and they seem fine. The play seems to be at the top of the seatpost. Is this normal? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
  20. I had exactly your problem when replacing a stem and handlebar. Turned out I needed a spacer, as my stem was slightly longer, on the steerer. A +-R45 fix.
  21. Speed is your friend.....when you attempt to ride slowly over most obstacles, "Murphy" will take that as a sign that you are ready for a little "lie down"....;-)
