  2. Hi is there a agent in South Africa, Hoping there is a big demand and someone has stock of these products in SA.
  3. Yip, the hub info explained it all, obvious if you know but it you have never seen a self extract before I don't think you get it first time round?
  4. LOL ok very clever, simple and works well
  5. Do you need a special tool like a crank extractor to remove a sram XO crank, I have taken the bolts out but cannot get the non-drive side arm off?
  6. Could I get through on a mtb or is it illegal to pass.
  7. Your assistance will be appreciated
  8. Great, thanks, 220 Sandpaper and some elbow grease
  9. Looking at the disc they have a blue purple colour on them now, normal?
  10. Awsome thanks. I drove it hard for about 50 metres full brakes and full power. Hope I did not damage it
  11. Brilliant, I was hoping that would be a solution,Let me give that a go. so these new pad issues are totally normal?
  12. The pad is correct as per the fitment, but what is bedding?
  13. So I put in new pads, on my SLX calipers, different manufacturer of pads.. Spin the wheel no problem, test ride down steep hill to test and I hear this sound of something touching, sounds like a broken spoke noise. On closer inspection the only thing i think i am seeing is that these new pads sit further down on the disc and the noise could be coming from the disc as that part of the disc has never before come into contact with a pad. is this normal and will a few rides smooth it out?
  14. Thanks that was my feeling, I just worry that the hollow shaped washers move or in one way come apart, I have heaps of thread buried into the fork female thread. That photo is of the rear there are almost double wasters on the front
  15. I am not using Shimano Rotors will that make a differance
  16. Photo attached
  17. Well it had 160 all around. when I put the SLX calliper on straight calliper onto Fork the calliper was to high, so instead of filing just put on a 180mm generic rotor and spaced up with the washers, its aperfect fit now, but are individual washers or spaces safe, I cannot see a problem but maybe there is an inherent problem.
  18. I changes over to Shimano SLX bakes from Avid. Problem is the spacing was all out, so got some brake spacers from the bike shop, looks like a few adopters and washers, I ended up seating it perfectly but the gap I made was from the washer{or whatever there right name is} and not the a mounted one piece adaptor.. I think this should be ok and the pressure should effect it the same way as a one piece adaptor mounting, Is this ok or is it not recommended.
  19. perfect, that's all I need to hear, will get some spares
  20. Why would you need new olive fittings, surely the old ones will work, They don't look like a wear and tear part
  21. thanks will do
  22. Thats great news. the current SLX calippers 2010 model i think, the previous generation, the new XT levers are those shiny one arm ones, I take it this is no problem. I do realise that it will require a brake bleed,I will get the LBS to do this.
  23. Thanks Guys Yip, that is the problem, the one bike has one bolt rotors and the other 6 pin screw in rotors. Ok another question, I was given as a gift some new shiny XT levers, my current set up is SLX levers and callipers. Will XT levers work with SLX callipers.
  24. I have two MTBs I prefer the Shimano SLX callipers with XT levers on my less used bike to that of the Avid 9 brakes. can I swap the brake levers around, the question is , will the Shimano brakes fit OK on Avid Rotors?
  25. They patched, very good job, they even reinforced from the inside. not sure if they do repairs as a policy, but they did not turn me down, I think they just did me a favour. I will buy my next bit of kit at Velotex, they have a showroom full of gear.
