  1. Thanks so all I need is the bearings from Bearing man or is it a unique kit from your LBS, any seal or washer that need replacing at the same time.
  2. I am moving to a MTB with a press fit bearing, I believe it is the BB95 on a Trek Superfly. I like to be in control and do my own repairs, but have always had screw in BBs, anyone with experience changing these BBs for a Trek Superfly with Sram cranks
  3. Interesting, thansk for the feedback. One point, my current crank has 2 rings and then a bash protector, would this bash protector be in place of the third ring possibly?
  4. I am selling my Spec Epic ally 2x10 and picking up a Trek Super fly carbon. They both have Sram XO, however the Trek has a 3 ring front chain ring, and the shifters are in better condition. Can I simply convert the Treks 3 ring to 2 ring by removing a ring and setting the front shifter limit?
  5. Good price, rolls well, not great grip, ok for rear tyre, would not put it on the front. It is tough, solid side-walls so no major side wall cuts, at 97KG and some rocky terrain, it lasts, I rather tired of expensive tyres that blow on the first sharp rock.
  6. Thansk CWC out of stock, got a new set from John Oconner for R210.00 not bad, if anyone else is looking for them
  7. Just crashed as broke this click buckle, does anyone know who stocks SIDI spares in Cape Town that will actually have stock, its a MTB shoe but I am sure they are compatable
  8. Hardness of the chain will not wear the cassette, what wears a cassette is a worn chain, the chain stretches and the gaps expand, this expansion of the chain wear the cassette. That is why a chain wear indication tool is so important, I would agree rather to replace a chain at more regular intervals to extend the lifespan of a cassette
  9. I eat chains, I am 97 KG and for some reason they don't last long, since July I have killed x3 Shimano Chains, SLX and XT. x2 Srams 1050 and 1090, honestly I think the Srams are better, and you get a quick link with them. I decided to try a TAYA chain from CWC, cheap R210, and was expecting it not to last long, OMG, the thing will not Die, it has outlasted any chain I have ever had and it still does not show .75 wear. amazing chain, highly recommended, I don't like their Quick link and just prefer the Sram or KMC quick link
  10. OK I sick of my front derailer. I seriously want a xx 1x11 but cannot afford it, converting to a 1x10 could have hidden problems. This part for R2200 from Chris Willimse may hold the answers, One problem it says it replaced the 4 bigger sprockets, should it not be 3 Biggest Sprockets. Anyone with experience, advise. http://www.cwcycles.co.za/product/leo-general-lee-42t?quicktabs_1=1#quicktabs-1
  11. Thanks. Any idea or name of manufacturers that make sram generics?
  12. I hope it is not a stupid question but can I use Shimano chain rings on a Sram Crank, or are there generic rings for Sram cranks,
  13. check you Monday 92 Loop Street Radio House First floor. Clyde 083 2323618
  14. I cracked my freehub indusrty nine anyone know who stocks these in Cape Town
  15. YIp, I found them, give me a description please.
  16. I have the new Shimano XT rear derailer, when I turn the clutch on, I find shifting more difficult, even tighter, not as easy and when the clutch is disengaged, if this normal or could my set up be wrong?
  17. Honestly you actually need to do most of it yourself, in my experience and opinion it can be a waste of valuable time and money. Watch the youtube clips and invest in the tools, Suspension can be tricky but you can use Stoked for those parts, rest is just like Lego. Its only a bicycle
  18. so is the long cage compatible with everything, or do you have to stick to a specific size, IE if I run a 36-11 with a double ring can I get away with a long cage, and will a triple ring work with a medium cage
  19. Thanks I run a 36-11 Rear and have 2 speed up front 38-24, hope this helps
  20. So looking for a new derailer, rear to replace my Sram XO, I see there are Short Medium and long Cages, what is the difference and when would you use one over the other?
  21. yip, all the non drive sides are still good?
  22. So I went to Bearing man, bought a 6805 bearing R50.00{this is the exact size} went next door to an mechanic who fitted it with their bearing press R50.00 Total Charge R100.00 New BB costs R475.00 Having a spare set of cups helps keep this in circulation.
  23. OK so I made a press and extracted the bearing, it is a tight fit, Problem is I cannot get the bearing back in, it is easier to freeze the bearing and put the cup in hot water, but still short of a snug fit, and the bearing keeps going in skew. once I do get this right it is just a case of replacing bearing each time, and using the old GXP cups. I think I need a press to get it in , anyone with ideas??
  24. awesome 6805 it is, thanks
  25. Will it work on GXP if I get the right sizes, anyone know
