  1. OK so Assos basically accused me of fabricating the truth.{no pun intended} below is an extract from their email reply to me... "I notice on the photo the wear of the lycra on the chamois area and on the right side of the leg doesn’t look like a bib that’s only 3 weeks old? All i wanted to do was take their advice as per their website http://www.assos.com/en/72/warranty---repair-policy.aspx I was recommend to a local company called Velotex, these guys fixed the holes perfectly and would not charge, so I bought some great arm warmers just not to leave empty handed, great shop with a massive array of cycle gear, great place if you are looking for great service and products. http://www.velotex.com/
  2. Thanks guys at this point it looks like i have to sort it out locally, I think Assos are great if you live in Europe and can post back to them, but from SA it is over.. I am now dealing directly with ASSOS , I will keep you updated. but thanks for the advise, I have local alternatives which help. http://www.assos.com/en/72/warranty---repair-policy.aspx
  3. Thansk Disylizzy That is a great offer i called the guy who sold them to me, he said I should send them back to see if he can repair them, but I am waiting to see how long this whole process takes, I dont want to wait like a few weeks only to be told they are unrepairable.. If all else fails I will be happy to give your aunt a try, thank you
  4. Bought my first pair 3 weeks ago, I had a crash Saturday and put 2 holes in them, R2400 pair of shorts, any ideas if they can be repaired
  5. do I shine or sand the edges of the blue thing that come out and which the cable is attached to?
  6. OK just checked the cable , it flows nicely, the blue round lock thing is very tight, could this be the problem? It floes neither back or forth and i have to force it with a tight grip?
  7. Thanks guys this helps, I had the cable replaced like 4 weeks ago, I think it is happening again, is it a easy job? my concern is where do I start the setting from when setting to lock-down the cable
  8. Once I lock the suspension and then release it, it will not retract to the suspension mode, anyone got any ideas?
  9. So I took the bike to Cycle Lab, the guys were amazing, they say that the disc movement does happen however that wear should not have happened on such a new part, it is safe to ride but with further wear it will have to be replace. Steve made some change to the front calipers, aligned the handlebars{big difference) advised that the sealant in the tyres had dried out and sold me some necessary accessories. I have found my LBS
  10. This is something I considered, however the rear brake is exactly the same and it has zero play or movement. Secondly when you lift the handle bars, spin the wheel and then hit the brakes you can hear a very obvious CLUNCK sound coming from that disc. If you have a pin and rivet system with play, I believe that with movement the holes will get bigger and the play will increase, just my opinion but I will get it checked out. I think that is a designed to be a replaceable brake disc, one bolt to remove the disc and screw another one on.
  11. I did complain but looking at the big picture is it worth going back, they could not even put the right Tyre pressure in the wheels, not that they checked, maybe it is just a good learning curve, you want a bike shop you can trust, a LBS who you can build a relationship with and they have a history on your bike and requirements,
  12. Honestly the worst experience, what a joke. The brake is just one of many issues the only thing they did was swipe my card. I will try another bike shop tomorrow hopefully they can help
  13. Thanks sam I will do that either way they can make the right call but I think allmtb is correct the disc is coming apart from the pins It irritates me that I collected the bike today from a service only for me,the amateur to discover this problem

  15. Oh not bad Thanks for the info
  16. Ok so it looks like a simple disc replacement, I hope. Any rough idea what this will cost
  17. I don't think it is the centre lock as the movement is clearly on the 6 pins
  18. Thank Any idea what a new disc would set me back
  19. Thanks allmtb Did you mean to say you would not ride it? Is it an east fix?
  20. I think it is a center lock,The six bolts have no option to tighten them, looks like they are pressed closed or similar, But I don't think braking on these is a good idea. As I am new to this I have no idea if the hub that holds this disc will need replacing, or if the movement will cause permmanent damage
  21. I bought a good quality bike on the Hub all looks good so far it has new SLX brakes and levers, I noticed that the disc on the front is slightly loose, I am able to move it back and forth on the 6 pins minutely with a small click click sound. is this normal or is it a wear and tear issue the previous owner said the bike only did 500KM P.S ok photos attached, sorry
