Why don't you just google it, or better just get a bike maintenance guide from a bookshop/Kalahari etc ? "tune/ adjust/ maintain/ clean" is really simple and you only need a few allen keys and small star screwdriver to adjust H & L settings. Then, with a crank and cassette spanners you can just about totally strip the bike and stick it together again. Only thing i wouldn't tackle is a fork rebuild...

I'd love to know how you carry a Glock while riding ? I wear my H&K pretty much everywhere else but haven't found a solution that is comfy, safe and unnoticeable on the bike yet. Perhaps I should just chuck the garmin and mount the gun on the stem...

Did the ride last year, was very bumpy with grass knolls where smooth singletrack should be, but then the routes where very new, probably ridden in better by now. Just to be safe - I'm leaving my hardtail home this time...

Try Fereiras or Adendorfs, there you can choose between good stuff like Snap-On, Gedore, King Tony or cheap chinese stuff, with all the attachments you heart may desire.

My rear wheel has a very small amount of lateral play when you move the wheel to and fro in the frame. Can this be bearings that need to be torqued ? I believe there's a special mavic wrench to be used, any idea where I can find one, or who the local importers are ? The freewheel hub sounds fine and the cassette is running nice & straight. Have no idea when they where last serviced or mileage as I got them on a used bike.

Hang in there and watch the forum for bargains - I bought a Scott Scale Ltd with full XTR, Reba carbon fork and Mavix SL's for R8k 2 months ago. Its like buying a Pagani Zonda for Polo money and I'd like to see a R8k 29er beat me on a XC course (unless off- course Burry is piloting it)...

I think thats a fair price - I recently bought a 2007 Scale LTD carbon with full XTR, Mavic SL's and Reba worldcup carbon fork, carbon bars, seatpost, seat etc for R8k. I replaced a spoke and refurbed the frame, looks like new now !

I just take my H&K 40 USP for a ride everytime I go there - imagine the surpise on his face...
