This is one rare Colnago Arabesque that was sold overseas on the internet today.......a ladies bicycle with no top tube!!! It was sold within a few minutes of being posted by a collector.

Mmmmn this is a modern Arab not an original 83/84 frame.........look at the brake cable inserts on the top tube and painted with Colnago Artwork ......looks 90's???

Mmmmmmmmn Loose Cog and I were very fortunate to pick up a set of these each from a Belgium Dealer who purchased NOS Campie equipment in Italy two or three years ago!

Have to be very very honest! I have never ridden it because it is to small for me due to it being a 58cm and I ride 62, 63cm.

Will do a proper photo shoot and then repost......been meaning to do it for along time.Unfortunately the light in my garage is not good coupled with the fact that I took the photo with my ipad so hence the poor poor quality.

A vintage DHC known as " The Spirit of Basil Cohen" which completed the inaugural edition of the 140km L'Eroica event in Montague last year. The day glow yellow machine behaved impeccably all day with no mechanical incidents and no punctures, albeit the owner complaining about all the hills on the route for most of the day!

A 1983-84 Alpina restored in metallic grey and fitted with one the most beautiful group sets ever produced - Shimano 600 Arabesque. The bike has a nice touch of History with the front of the handle bars panto graphed with the words Alpina on the left hand side and Rapport Tour 83 - 84 on the right hand side. ( Rapport Tour TV4 team issue) A very nice example of a bicycle manufactured in South African.????????

Believe me there are more to come!!!! SOON. Another substance that is banned are the eye drops with the green top which is for the treatment of inflamed eyes and or conjunctivitis!

I know the competition is over but I came across this fantastic photo taken by the famous cycling photographer Nato Barnard of the 1974 Rapport Tour of a rider in the Trek Team who collapsed from heat exhaustion. Note the Colnago bottom bracket of his bike and no closure of the roads.....traffic on both sides of the road in Karoo somewhere at temperatures of 40 degrees!
