  1. that is a very old Daccordi frame and fork before they started pantographing the seat stays and bottom bracket! The three brake cable guides also gives you an indication that this is and early seventies model.
  2. Hi Eric, this not an ordinary Master, it is an Arabesque Master.........very rare! I think there were only 500 made in 83 - 84! Check your right rear back stay on the drop out and it will have a three digit serial number. Let me know what the number is.95% of all Arabesque's were sold as frame sets only for Colnago's 30 Anniversary. The 5% were sold as complete bikes with Colnago 30th pantographing on Campagnolo parts! These complete bikes command pricing of between R100,000 and R400,000 all depending on condition and if the bike is complete or not. Regards Sven
  3. I am looking for a steel De Rosa frame 61, 62 or 63cm centre of bb to top of seat tube. Must be reasonable condition no dents or accident damage. Can also be complete bike for sale please contact me via PM, email or mobile 0827729751. Regards Sven
  4. Nice to see that some organisers have the balls to ban riders for life in their events! The UCI should follow suite.......they have been far to lenient on cheating. The proof is in the results.....riders are still taking chances and innocent clean riders are being ridden into the ground everyday because of this! There should be no stone left unturned in cleaning up this tarnished sport.
  5. very very nice my man I really like it!
  6. What size is the Peugeot Vitus Eppie?
  7. Victor Tembani was a personal friend of mine in the 70's and we often rode together around the Marine Drive in Port Elizabeth. Obviously because of Apartheid Victor was not allowed to ride in any track events and he was an able track rider who only rode a track bike on the road and through the city centre! You could often see him balancing his track bike at traffic lights and gaining the admiration of all the young ladies due to his physique and good looks. I clearly remember sponsoring him three red top Clement tubulars purchased from the then Webb Cycles for his ride to Johannesburg to meet up with Basil Cohen. Victor had the best job any racing cyclist would like to have had in those days which was delivering medicine for the Pharmacy he then worked for....Erics Pharmacy in North End, Port Elizabeth. Regards Sven van Straaten Ex Eastern Province Track rider.
  8. This beautiful late 60's DHC built with Reynolds 531 tubing will be tearing up the gravel in Montagu at the first Historical Eroica event held in South Africa come Saturday the 23rd of April. The Brooks Tuscany Team Professional saddle would complement this Historical bicycle to the full. In the true spirit of the event the South African bicycle manufacturers at the height of SA's racing history will be remembered!
  9. Great Team riding and great experienced Team Management under pressure to win this Tour. Di Data's investment into the Team looks justified......to have won so much in so little time is truly fantastic from a South African point of view and something we can be proud of!
  10. This is going to be a great event.......if one looks at the popularity of the same event in the UK and the States where getting into the event is simular to some of the mountain bike events in South Africa, were if you snooze you lose out on getting into the event.
  11. Great ride and a barrage of good results already.......I just hope the team has enough depth for them not to have a tired legs going into the TDF. You often saw this with the Euskadel team who had great climbers but never really challenged because of them being to tired by the time they got to the Tour!
  12. Another great ride by the Di Data team and another stage win and overall leader jersey to defend.
  13. That is a very nice bike.......track Cinelli's are very rare .....I am very lucky to own one which I raced in the early seventies. Take your time to find the correct parts for the bike and you will have a valuable machine. Regards Sven
  14. Lets get this steel bike thing going where we can put down an enquiry to what we need so that we can complete projects and assist others to complete projects.
  15. Great first win for Di Data..........and a very nice early return of investment as a sponsor!
  16. This sport is rotten to the core .........ban the dopers for life and only then will the tide change! Clean riders are being defrauded by these people of; 1) SA Titles 2) Places on National Teams 3) Victory celebrations in events where a rider that has won is caught and relegated.....the guy that came second never gets to enjoy the podium win 4) The prize money being defrauded from clean riders! ♣
  17. Fantastic Stan, booked guesthouse and bringing the boys from PE and Plett to this fantastic event. We are definitely already on the mailing list and look forward to all the new developements etc.
  18. Does anyone know what is happening about the above event? ........everything has gone quite about it and I am sure there are many vintage boys wanting to know more about the regulations etc!!!
  19. 2 out of 2 for CSA........first Impey gets away with a positive test and now Croeser gets away with an infringement which is as the Doctor says illegal!
  20. Awesome guys.....what we need are more guidelines from the organisers on bikes that enter this event and what is permissable and what is not.
  21. Make sure the Di Data logo can be as easily seen as the MTN logo can be seen on the jerseys from the helicopter camera shots.......that has been a winner for the Qhubeka!
