  1. North of Paarden Island the cycle lane is right to the road?

South I also use the yellow lane on the N1, but always on the harbour side. People riding on the other must be very unhappy with their lifes imh

Yes,saw an idiot this morning cycling on Marine Drive "looked like a serous cyclist had all the kit etc cycling in the direction of Cape Town around  06:15 still very dark and there is no yellow emergency lane on that stretch of road but to make matters even worse this chop had no lights crazy.

  2. I agree the price of race entry fees are getting expensive but then again everything seems to be going up in price and when one starts adding associated expenses like the cost of getting to and from the venue pre and post race refreshments it starts getting prohibitively expensive for the average person to afford especially if you take the family along.I used to do plenty of races in a season but no more I will rather pay for a day permit.

  3. I didn't take part in this event but took a ride through from Durbanville to Tweede Tol on Friday left at about 9am and thought I may meet some of those who were doing this event ,didn't see anyone along the route to or on my cycle back to Durbanville ,also Campsite was very quite but still was a beautiful day to be on your bike and to see all the water on the mountains amazing

  4. Race itself good. It's a fun route with epic views. Pity about numbers but organisers did well with routes....both road and mtb.

closures will help and perhaps minimize routes crossing each other specifically in the mtb race...some anxious moments when the 80km front group crossed paths with 30km with the 80km group on a descent

Lekker town with epic routes for races...will remain a favorite of mine

Did the 80km mtb and the road race only gripes I have is to much gravel road otherwise really enjoyed the st and rough jeep tracks in the forest ,water points were a little disappointing I believe the anchor sponsor pick n pay has pulled out so maybe that explains some of the changes to the event

  5. Interested to find out how people enjoved the road and mtb races, numbers were difinately down from last year and the venue for registration was not suitable although I had no problems registering that went off flawlessly but cannot understand why it was moved from the sports fields just seems  bit disjointed

  6. some riders that have recently joined and then the regulars ... the newbie we picked up a little later would have been no. 20.....he is being added to the Whatsapp group and we expect to see him twice a week, will be able to count him next time.

our WA group for the commuter ride = 62 users :)

Hairy where do you guys meat up and what time do you meet ,think I might join if the time is suitable?

  7. I see this guy was granted  R30k bail pending his appeal and that his family is offering R10k for information on what happened in the early hours of the morning on the 7 February surely if he was sober and driving within the legal speed limits he would have been able to  give an accurate account of what happened also he would have had ample time to avoid hitting the two cyclist's this just tells me that he was either drunk or distracted by something,I think once again the officials that attended the scene stuffed up there is no good excuse for this incident when you are behind the wheel of a car your focus and attention must be totally on your driving and the road ahead no excuse lock him up.
