As an average home mechanic I agree 100%. I did a lowers service for the 1st time couple of weeks ago on my Revelation 130 (and also replaced the airspring with a 140mm), the lowers service and spring replacement/re-grease I will do, but damper opening no thanks ... Just looking at the schematic of an open damper puts me off trying it.

Rode Sani last year with an Aspen 2.25 front and Rekon Race 2.25 on the back, I was under the impression the Aspen actually had more edge grip than the Rekon Race so put it in front. For me it's splitting hairs between an Ikon/Aspen/Rekon Race, they all have limited treads and on loose over hard they are all all over the place if you're going fast, but they performed well at Sani for me.

Did Sani2c Adventure last year on my Large 120 800 (only change was to lighter tyres Rekon Race and Aspen 2.25s and ESI Extra chunkies). We ended in the top 15%, with a 15min puncture delay ... My bikes about 13.8kgs with XT pedals. So it can be done, sure a carbon 10kg dual would improve our performance, but I'm not sponsored haha Think the weight is in the frame, it's quite a burly frame compared to a Spark I think.

Those WSBK's, the only thing which is roughly the same as the road bikes, are the fake lights painted on them. They are closer to motogp bikes than to the roadbikes they are supposed to be.

That Honda looked like a 600cc against a 1000cc Ducati down the straight yesterday, crazy how much speed they lose coming out the corners. Interesting that MM says it's not the engine performance that's lacking, it the elec cutting in to reduce wheelies. So the power is there, just cannot get it to the ground without losing alot of meters ... Lorenzo back to his usual type of winning again from the front, but MM almost had him there at the end! Tomorrow is gonna be real interesting!

Agree, also not much interest in the series anymore. The days of Chili, Haga, Bayliss, Edwards and Corser as long gone ... booming V-Twins against the 750 4's.

Most consistent rider this year, never thought I would say that of MM. Pushed when he had to, settled for other positions when he could not win. Still a 1 in 1000 chance that both Yamahas would crash in the same race ... Read that MM after seeing JL out, forgot at which track he was and missed some gear shifts the lap haha. Really good to see a Honda win at HRC home (for me), never though my team would do it this year and take the champ.

They should market it as the most expensive mtb race, that would be the truth, or maybe I don't know of another more expensive race ... saying it's the toughest is dof, tough for one person is not so tough for another. Blanket statements like that grinds people, especially on a Friday ...

So it's the bridge close to that open piece of field where one can mtb through (koek sny) coming from round Waterkloof airport? That piece of gravel where you can sny koek also seems a bit dodge, as the okes seem to have built a lookout point in there ... can see one coming from a mile away. I have gone under the bridge a couple of times but that was at 16:30 in the afternoon. Glad you're ok ...

Him and Phil Buys were aiming to win when they rode together ... If Buys was stronger they would probably have won it. I think once again in 2017 it's going to depend on how strong his partner is, as we know he is strong enough to win.

It seems in the days of 125 and 250 that was the natural way to 500 2 stroke. Now, I'm note sure if the Moto 2 is such a good learning ground for MotoGP, as we see with guys coming up not doing very well and adapting, like Rabat for example, or Pol or Smith, being on almost factory level bikes.

Maybe if they were on Hondas they could have won a couple of champs ...

He's complained about MM, Simoncelli etc. as well in the past. He is certainly one of the cleanest overtakers since he joined MotoGP (not in his days in 250 etc.), but even so, I still don't agree with his bitching. This is bike racing, not knitting, and scraping fairings is part of the game. Leave it up to Race Direction to decide on whether it was a rough pass or not. Even Dani was aggressive this race, that's part of the game and how you win races.
