I hope next year the front battles will involve the likes of Suzuki and Ducati as well. It seems as though it might be, as Ducati apparently had closer input into the new ECU, and with the tyre changing it might suit other bikes better in the beginning of the season. Can't believe how little of the other bikes one sees in the TV coverage ...

I dont think he was sandbagging. He has everything to lose not putting in a good lap. Qualifying is the only time today that is the same time approx as the race, thus the only time to test the limits at that time with the tyres etc. It did not come off for him, but that happens sometimes. He would have certainly wanted to measure his pace against the top guys today. Lorenzo looks seriously fast, MM has same overheating tyre issues as at PI, CC also mentioned it. So it seems as though saving his tyres for the last part of the race will be the thing he will do. Sounds like he was speaking the truth at PI in the end.

It's not just about straight line, having a carrot in front of you for a whole lap does assist lap times in qualifying.

In the end it's about the Team winning not the individual ... it's about Yamaha winning. Yes Rossi might be borrowing data from JL and improving from it, or even the other way around in the end it's about the Team. I'm sure JL feels like it's "stealing" though ... But yes, JL might not want to share data with VR anymore, but I'm not sure if there's anything he can do about that ... In the end the Team is the voice of authority. This rift might just force JL out of Yamaha by his own decision ... It's gonna be a very interesting shuffle end of next year. I just hope they leave HRC alone! I'm happy with the 2 riders there, one psycho, and one chill guy, a good match.

Pernat sure can talk alot ... we'll see what is truth and what not. Always has alot to say about everyone and everything in MotoGP. So how is this different than the years in which there was a wall between VR and JL? Surely a wall can go up again and it will be the same?

Do not see JL going anywhere fast ... if I was Yamaha, I would rather keep him than Rossi (ignoring personal tastes and personalities and all that @#$%, because of Rossi's age and probably retiring in 3/4 years), why does Rossi not try the Ducati for a 2nd time. 2nd time lucky maybe.

Yip, I moved from a RaRa front to a RoRo front, now on a NN front ... all in the name of confidence on loose over hard. This NN does feel awesome from the 2 rides I have done here in super dry conditions.

I'm running a Rocket Ron SS 2.25 on the rear since last week. Was at Heia Safari the week-end, and man it was real testing terrain, with loose over hard, the loose being almost like marbles basically. It handled everything well enough under those extreme cirucmstances, not sure there can be any worse loose over hard ... Here's my new Nobby NIC 2.35 SS on the front, it handled very well under the testing conditions there, did have a few drifts from both tyres though, but no falls fortunately. The Ron looks like it has some kind of disease ... but it's staying at the same pressure at least ...

I reckon it's because of that "unwritten rule" again, which Rossi seems to now believe in (not in Motegi 2010), in that if you're not part of the race in championship win, then stay out of it. MM broke that "unwritten" rule yes. The lap times Rossi was doing once MM crashed, was in fact not alot faster than during their battle in any case, most were slower.

Ja I agree, but are still seeing headlines that say that ... , that's not the reason he was penalized either.
