Same here, Rainey and Doohan was who I rooted for too ... Man those Rothmans Hondas were dominant in those years, with Jerry Burgess as crew chief for Doohan. Those were the days man ...

In other news, looks like Stoner plucked his moer for Honda not asking him to ride in DP's place while he was out, he is going back to Ducati ... https://motomatters.com/news/2015/11/11/casey_stoner_to_return_to_ducati_in_test.html

Wonder how many crashes we will see today on this new rubber ... all the previous times out there were quite a few. Let's hope for none ... Testing has officially started! Pity one has to buy the timing app for R260 to see live timings. It's on 25% discount though. It is for the whole season at least. Edit : I see the times are live on the motogp.com homepage ... duh.

Very well said ... I do not blame VR for the wide running either. MM asked for it. Also not a JL fan, but ja he was the best racer this year

Same one as I posted ... but alas, it will not change anyone's opinions, what a rider says is gospel, no matter what engineers or reporters much closer to the action than us armchair racers, have to say. Mat Oxley's tweets also quite informative on the whole episode. I myself need to learn to be more objective ...

I hope next year the front battles will involve the likes of Suzuki and Ducati as well. It seems as though it might be, as Ducati apparently had closer input into the new ECU, and with the tyre changing it might suit other bikes better in the beginning of the season. Can't believe how little of the other bikes one sees in the TV coverage ...

Im quoting what the honda riders said, tyre heat issues. Mm will be saving his tyres, hopefully he beats jl like in PI, thats also what all you rossi fans need to hope for.

I dont think he was sandbagging. He has everything to lose not putting in a good lap. Qualifying is the only time today that is the same time approx as the race, thus the only time to test the limits at that time with the tyres etc. It did not come off for him, but that happens sometimes. He would have certainly wanted to measure his pace against the top guys today. Lorenzo looks seriously fast, MM has same overheating tyre issues as at PI, CC also mentioned it. So it seems as though saving his tyres for the last part of the race will be the thing he will do. Sounds like he was speaking the truth at PI in the end.

It's not just about straight line, having a carrot in front of you for a whole lap does assist lap times in qualifying.

I think we get your point ... I had an inclination the results would be the same for Rossi, but yes he's still in it ... albeit a bit harder now. Wonder what kind of reception he's gonna get in Spain! Rossi regretting his move to push MM wide ... http://www.crash.net/motogp/news/224901/1/rossi-i-regret-pushing-marquez-wide.html haha even JL is saying sorry now for the thumbs down he showed to Rossi ... Everyone all fuzzy and cuddly again Must have been the talking to they had from the meeting that have initiated this. See people are speculating that Rossi give the ducatis a tow in Q2 so they can qualify in front of JL

In the end it's about the Team winning not the individual ... it's about Yamaha winning. Yes Rossi might be borrowing data from JL and improving from it, or even the other way around in the end it's about the Team. I'm sure JL feels like it's "stealing" though ... But yes, JL might not want to share data with VR anymore, but I'm not sure if there's anything he can do about that ... In the end the Team is the voice of authority. This rift might just force JL out of Yamaha by his own decision ... It's gonna be a very interesting shuffle end of next year. I just hope they leave HRC alone! I'm happy with the 2 riders there, one psycho, and one chill guy, a good match.
