Absolutely will. That’s special doing it with your son 👌 Have done Van Gaalens a couple of times. The last few climbs are a real test of resolve . In fact so are the concrete steps ,can’t go to hard there early on. My Stumpy and I look forward to it 😎

As I can’t make the CTCT was considering do the 70. Think I will definitely do it now as I have never ridden there , and seems as if it may be my last chance ,sad ,very sad ☹️

I would have me one of those ,maybe.Would prefer the Cannondale with the Kingpin suspension / Lefty Oliver Carbon gravel fork and a canyon VCLS 2.0 CF seatpost, love the look of the split carbon post. That would be my ideal gravel bike😁😁 NSBB gasps 😶 😂

I never received an email with my start batch. And as for my seeding ,how I got put in H1 with a index of 46 taken from my last race - ride jhb 2021 is anybody’s guess. Reading through this thread and seeing others index and start groups makes me wonder how we get seeded....eeny,meeny,miny,moe . Think I was eeny 🙃 So bummed it won’t happen now 😢 was so looking forward to it.

1H must be the international group. Last race was 2021 - jhb cycle challenge . I Cant remember the last time I did a century,nevermind those big bumps in the road . Happy days 😁 until @Jewbacca passes me on his unicycle bmx or whatever wonderful hair-brained contraption he swings his leg over 😎

Just paid for my international entry . 2 road rides in the last 5 months,it’s all good fun. At least there’s a stunning view and no grey sky. I’ll take it gratefully. Will count myself lucky that I am able to get here to ride , and get just under a month of road riding in , hopefully . 2 hr time difference works massively in my favour 👌 Now to arrange everything thing else 😎 like the short drive there etc. Anybody know of accommodation close by still available. Roll on CTCT, super stoked 😁

Post school run ride.Stumpy & i finding some relief in the shade . It’s hot ,but soaking up the rays is bliss .

Rode Thaba last week , thought it was awesome . The new red route is a proper challenge, but really rewarding. Even though I was proper knackered , loved it👌

Winters are definitely tough to keep the faith and keep pedalling . I have taken to running in the past come February, as I just can’t do the cold anymore . Having people waiting is a massive draw card to getting out there. That’s what I need. I always ride solo in the uk and mostly solo in SA. The mud is also a big factor and doesn’t play well with my need to clean my bike always . Summers are awesome though , can’t beat them . All 5 days 😂

Believe so, my Director told me it was -4 in Sheffield yesterday. One rude awakening coming up. Even more so as am going to Switzerland/ Zug the week I get back . Going to miss the sun sooooo much 😢😢😢

That’s a brave ride in the current temps ....kudos dude . I need to harden up when I get back and keep pedalling.

A bit of gravel on Thursday morning,a chilled mtb ride on Saturday and a an awesome road ride with coffee and breakfast to round of 3 perfect days of riding. A week and bit left before heading back to mud island ☹️. Take as much sun in as possible 😊👌
