I think I saw this bike today on swartkoppies road . Had a berg & bush top on. Only realised after that it was a hubbers bike ( was Wayne’s?) was also absolutely knackered and wanted to get home . If it was your bike, damn that purple pops in the sun, beaut 👌👌

Was on my way to this section today, coming downhill though . The photo does no justice to how rough it felt on a gravel bike. My rear wheel pinged a few times and had a couple of dodgy moments. But I should worry though ,as @NotSoBigBensaid. I was on my wife’s bike ✊😁

Specialized Sawtooth are brilliant tyres. Have been running the 42’s for ages on 3/4 different bikes and absolutely love them . They bulletproof! But for mostly a road ride ,a tad heavy. The Spez roubaix 30/32 that @JulienRmentioned are probably a bit more what you after. I used these on a bike that did 50/50. On the road they plenty fast , they really are. There is obviously a trade when going off road but not as much as you might think. I was really surprised when run at the right pressure how much they actually soaked the chatter in the rough stuff. They are a great trade of tyre .

Really was pretty awesome , thanks to my mate @NotSoBigBen cracker ride as always . #isuckatselfies last 30 odd with Sealant dousing me properly. At least it stayed up,looks like a newish tyre has delaminated . Not sure that’s a cut. Got me home though .

Does it not depend on the amount of flare and the bars you use? The walmer bars I had on my Niner rlt allowed me to grab the brakes while in the drops . The bars I have now are 40cm with 5cm flare in the drops . It’s not much of a flare but that little bit gives me more confidence than bars without any flare. And I can grab the brakes with my finger tips.

Got me some new kicks. Damn they are so comfy and the quality looks pukka. No more Sidi’s for me. Next is to upgrade my roads shoes to lake. And the service from Kim at Pure Motion was beyond brilliant,quick to respond and informative . Kim brought with her about 10 different styles and a few sizes around my size and met me at my local Mug & Bean . Service like that is rare, so my next Poc helmet and lake shoes will definitely be through Kim. Massive kudos 👌

Back in the saddle again, thanks to @NotSoBigBen, was really good to get out riding and have a chilled catch up ride. Even if i did have to wake up in the middle of the night 😎 and wear a Gillette . Thanks mate 👍

Have never owned a ktm and don’t know what they ride like ( although believe they are a tad harsh ) but there resale value is horrendous. 120 travel front and rear or 120 front 100 back is ideal . Rather try buy newer geometry for a bit of confidence .
