Van Gaalens this morning for the ashburton marathon ...tough race as always. with some tricky Little rock sections. Thought the badge was a nice gesture ????

Thaba & RV in one day. And RV with the kids. After 7.5km they where properly knackered.Love there enthusiasm and bravado,doesn't get much better ✊️ Oh and milkshakes after of course ????

surprisingly pedal efficient. Can definitely feel the downhill traits . It's a proper capable and doesn't feel big. Not as lively as the stumpy or as smooth as the following. lighter wheels & tyres would transform this bike. But the following blew my mind ????...evil is right ???? Following? Quite possibly ????

Yea well at least I tried to do the 75km. End on 52km... had saved some legs for the last 20 as well. Couldn't believe it when I came to the end. Thought we were going out on a another loop. There was about 20ppl I know of that didn't get the right distance. Ranging from from 46km to 52km. And the doc guys were there as well. And I saw a few of them had done he same sort of distance. Only 59 ppl did the correct distance . I can't even think where we went wrong. They have lots to learn . A path cut through a farmers field isn't really a trail . But any day on the bike is still a good day out...even if it was 2.7 degrees 15km into the race ❄️❄️❄️ .

i didn't do the race ( I did the Spur Heidelberg mountain bike challenge for hope...what a mess that was) but I do think I remember seeing there was 10min between batches . I stand under correction. I never invested anything in this race and kinda glad I didn't. Although the other race wasn't worth the time anyway. But yea I agree,there should be sufficient time between batches and if they have to merge the route it needs to be done more timely .

I think the organizers have obviously made a massive balls up merging the races together. And although I get the race snakes think they should take priority on the same trail that others have paid for as well . I kinda get it as they are racing. But and a big but everybody has paid for there race and the distance they are doing,But from what ppl have put in this thread if it were me doing the half at my full pace and I get screamed to get out of the way causing me not to be able to ride some of the fun stuff. I would have a massive problem with that .

some nice changes...like the option green/blue climb. Thought it was really cool.
