  2. What do you guys make of the new Tallboy 3. according there website it is like 1kg heavier than the TB2, slacker front end and a wider rear hub. not sounding great is it? or what?
  3. What a legend
  4. Enve wheels. For real.? Are they used much by world tour teams? sponsors are clawing to get on the hottest team. Hope they paying a premium. Awesome bikes.

  6. U must see my hand writing when living at 12 bar in a tank.
  7. Before I spend heaps of money on a bike and accessories I speak to mechanic dudes her work on the sani2c. Joburg 2c. W2w.. and get there feedback on reliability, services and spares. To determine performance yeh I read the reviews and mag docos. Some UK mags do long term test and again the reliability eyc is tested. Thats why I use shimano. Fox . And santa cruz. Eg: XX1 is great. To replace a castte is R5000.. not a chance

  10. @banna cool. Yeh I weighed mine with pedals 11.4kg. I will be waiting some time for the SLR. Apparently no stock of centre lock. Im hoping to be under 11. When its done.
  11. Got my new frame yesterday. Phase 1. Xtr 9020 groupo on its way. SLR wheels next week. Had a small ride yesterday maybe better ride than LTc. Time will tell.
  12. Lefty.....really??? What a waste of an insane frame.
  13. Pricing. They got the cheap carbon now too. But apparently only finished bikes. BUT the decals are identical. Full XT with easton carbon seatpost bar and stem with SLR wheels 75k.

  15. have you got a weight on that?
  16. I dont like to say that any product is poor, **** happens! Basically the rubber clamps that lock the bike in place slid off the back end of the bars. the number plate holder that prevents this came rattled off and so did my bike. when i [picked up the bike it still had the rubber clamp on. my local bike shop has lend me a scott scale RC 29er, this i really appreciate as my bike will take some time to sort out. and now i know why we pay a premium for santa cruz. even my tallboy LTc had better pedal effeciency than this hardtail. i had pedal bob on a hardtail. I MISS MY BIKE. dam yes ive ordered a ride on bike carrier. i used the other one for small trips around town.
  17. Worst day, watching my bike cartwheel down the road at 100km/h. failed bike rack. Nightmare. Before n After!!!
  18. im curious as to the weight of your bike?
  19. Suspension can be the most expensive component on a bike. Its perfect set up is essential to getting the full benefit out of a bike, keeping you safe and having an efficient pedaling stroke. ive spend days and perhaps months researching the best suspension setup. and im still not 100%. with good quality suspension a few adjustments on a setting can make huge differences. i check my pressures b4 every ride. and tyre presure is the first signal that affects suspension tuning. Ive paid huge amounts of money for a very good bike and suspension, it make sense to understand it and get the most out of it. the internet is full of really good information, pinkbike is a great starting point for info. body weight plus psi is a shot into space. with FOX products ive found there tech manuals are a pretty good starting point but should be checked and adjusted to suit your riding. and Apple has the APP.
  20. For fox products, the shock or fork MUST be in the DECEND mode. this is most important. to set sag. as decend mode is air pressure only suspension. With RLC older fox set up, reduce low speed compression to lowest setting. for a XC style ride with 80 - 100mm travel fork, consider 15% max on sag setting. longer travel maybe 20% sag. once you know your pressures, i right it ont the shock. so that i dont forget. essential reading see below and also any other pinkbike tech tuesday http://www.pinkbike.com/news/To-The-Point-Rebound-Damping-2013.html
  21. http://forums.mtbr.com/santa-cruz/ a link loaded with Santa Cruz owners, and if you want to see how the yanks cannot leave a bike standard, they will modify every possable angle, nut n bolt. quiet interresting.
  22. Pride n Joy!
  23. Just under 12kg. Insane....!
  24. I am santa cruz mad. My wife and I both have. I often look at weights and compare to epics and with the same gear on both frames there is not much in it. Maybe 100g. I wish santa would put a pro xc team out. Especially to challenge the cape epic etc. With good riders. Uber etc. Santa has a fantastic pedaling efficiency.
