  1. I am not saying the 990 is R75K
  2. I am learning that this will be like Mountain Bikes ... you always want to try the next one, then the next one and the next one The idea of cleaning a chain and dealing with replacing chains and sprockets does make me feel 🤮
  3. I did, but Youtube vids and just about every KTM rider I speak to have swayed me! Still a GSA 1200 AC candidate, just casting my web a little wider and trying the bikes to see what works best for me. I am new to this game, with the Harley being my only "big bike" ... so need to explore a little more I recon on my options.
  4. going to "look at" these two hopefully over the weekend.
  5. #JUSTSAYING
  6. Flipping awesome .... just a reminder RE your KTM's please?
  7. show some pics of your T7 or it never happened
  8. Let's see what offers you get now
  9. and frilly underwear, make up and hair dryers with timeshare and herba life is what you are looking for.
  10. FACT
  11. Is this a bit of a risk for a 2016 with 95K on the clock ... I have asked for a service history ... so waiting for that https://www.webuycars.co.za/buy-a-car/BMW/R Series/B3CB10330
  12. no jokes ... when I go out and then get back home the wife has been going like a machine ... something about since working from home with covid, she does not like doing the work while I am here as I 1. get in the way 2. ask what she is doing 3. am on calls or Zoom meetings, etc. works for me I say
  13. The old Harley is still just such a good ride! Not a bad evening in CT to be out on a bike.
  14. The bike is with We Buy Cars, and the agent said he would try and find all this information for me. In the background though, the bike has a sticker from where I assume it was purchased, and I have also sent them an email asking if they have any information and sent them the VIN no. to check if they are willing to assist.
  15. Sooo ... what are your thoughts on a newish BMW that was written off by insurance, then fixed up and being sold again?
  16. my 2018 YT Jeffsy AL size large ... bought her 2019 (Ex. demo) did a bit of riding, had issues with the dropper and the cassette where she sat for a while, then got a new e-13 cassette with chain and a new RS dropper post, our friend covid came along and then I may have taken her off road maybe twice with a short roadie ride or two around the block type of riding. I am not using her, and prob. won't be using her anytime soon. Pending what bike I look at, I may be able to also just try and sell the frame with crankset then carry over the fork and drive train to my STR.
  17. Not just yet, but I have been speaking to people I know, one of whom noted that he had a 2012 GSA that he loved and cared for from birth, then decided he wanted to get a KTM Adv and sold the GSA to his brother in law, who in turn added this to his vast collection of bikes and since then the bike has seen limited mileage. He estimates it to be at 44K. He reached out to him yesterday to see if he may be interested in selling the bike ... so that is a good wait and see idea. Other than finding a nice oil/air cooled bike, I may take the approach of waiting a little longer and saving up a bit more to get a 2016 and younger liquid cooled GSA .... with the idea that the market would see more of them coming out in a few months, and hopefully a good few with low mileage that have been garage queens that gets parked outside the local coffee shop on Sunday mornings. So I am aggressively browsing and learning at the same time, if the right bike pops up, then great, if I wait a bit for the right bike then so be it. A bit more expensive right bike right now, may mean me having to see the YT Jef. to bridge the gap (I do not like financing things, so cash in hand is the way to go for me).
  18. Still going to push them on price
  19. I went to test a 2011 GSA 1200 today. Mileage is high at 71K Servicing is on point with the dealer all the way through General condition is really good. I found a custom made alum bracket with a GoPro mount on it .. turns out the guy meant to be. well know in motorcycling circles and may have a YT channel.....ring a bell for anyone Price is a little on the steep side at R110k, this includes the alum top box and paniers, a set of shorty levers that feel strange to use and a steering damper. I could only test the bike up and down the road. This was enough to determine that the bike does not dip and dive like the other 2011 that I tried out over the weekend. This bike was certainly also a bit nippier. Took the seat off and the bike was nice and clean with the cables all neat and tidy the one from the weekend looked like a mouse nest RE the wiring. Dealer is going to see what he can do RE the price, but R110K for a 71,000km bike is a bit heavy for me to accept.
  20. Phenomenal And what a legend
  21. is this due to the 1300's being on the market?
  22. a moral dilemma I am sitting with is, will little kids and their mothers still smile and wave at me if I am NOT on a Harley
  23. interesting and I am sure more maneuverable with the narrower tyres but then the xt250 would be more capable again?
