  1. And then you get this guy ...........
  2. How many other riders have not snapped der. cables through the years leaving them to doctor a SS so that they can limp back over the finish line.
  3. The real hero here in the beginning of the vid is the Harley hanging out off road.
  4. GOOGLE EARTH FAMOUS
  5. Wonder if you will see this drivetrain at this event?
  6. I only run if the police are chasing me, and they have not had a reason to do so for some time.
  7. Doubt you will be able to find a X to take for a spin off road?
  8. What I find interesting about this test, besides the final force required to break the der ... is the repeated, and increased force applied to the der ... one would assume this would have also weakened the material before the final breaking point test?
  9. Held in my left whilst taking the pic with my righty
  10. The most impressive bit about this clip is that the Specialized frame did not crack or explode into a million carbon fragments!
  11. Or not. Just do not buy the new bike for the new drivetrain. Ride what you have and be happy, or if you want a little zziinngg in your life, add one of the current electrical drivetrains, that by all accounts are still fooking good to use in any event.
  12. @Headshot recons he is rather fast for an old guy on his steel HT ........ but yes, not really "fast" enough
  13. So if I get to do just over 200km some days for site meetings on the bike, can I call myself a professional motorcyclist as I am getting paid to ride my bike 🤣
  14. Can't afford the petrol on that.
  15. I agree that cycling is seen as a premium luxury sport that has seriously become stupidly expensive in my person view. This I have voiced before on BH ... small things like the price of chains or even just a good old fashioned tube are stoooopid. But back in the day when I worked in an LBS I recall my first decent MTB was pretty much three full paychecks for me (Granted the pay was K@K@). The sport still felt like it was accessible financially. Someone who was in the Windsurfing scene before it took off and then at it's hay day noted that he was seeing cycling following a similar trend where it get's to the point of being just too expensive, and then the industry collapses on itself. I do hope this never happens.
  16. My HD has a bigger engine than my car ... we are getting a new car soon ... and the car has a bigger engine than the HD. WHAT DO I DO. I can get a new HD with a bigger CC engine, or just play it safe by getting a Rocket 3
  17. The same way people moved over to new frames when the shift from V-Brakes to Disc Brakes happened. There are enough battery operated options available to riders on standard frames, and there will still be for some time ... you may even find that the pricing gets a little better in the near future. Run what you have till it breaks, and then look to see what is available on the market. Getting upset because innovation requires change = we may well still just be rolling on fully rigid bikes with K@K@ brakes and components.
  18. As a rider who has dabbled in the dark arts of single speeding ... the "magic gear" does exist!
  19. Took a little break from Bikehub, and it seems my logical thought processes have been missing around here
  20. Did you buy your bike new or used? If you bought new, you may have been the target market for something ... wider rims, boost, etc. If you bought second hand you managed to skip the premium for a new bike, and bought a bike from someone who did buy a new bike. At some point you too will end up buying a great condition used bike with a UHD.
  21. That is the same view people had when 29'ers came out ... and when longer travel AM (Sorry, #Enduro bikes came out) .... this will all roll out over time, we have to also realise this is just being released, and it the real cutting edge of SRAM's drive train, so by the time that they have taken this to more base level drivetrain ranges, frame manufacturers would have started adapting.
  22. But your wife is tougher than you, so she can
  23. I know he is an Aussie, but that is not the bikes fault, and you just need to look past this flaw.
