  1. That is a cool pic. Did you ride it out, or do you have some purple tinted grey hair lodged on your bike somewhere? EDIT: Your choice of bars, grip and frame colours have my interest ... any other PITCHA's of the bike?
  2. 💔 RBTV!
  3. So if I read the app correctly I can pay R124.99 per month, or R719.99 annually to have access to GNC+ in order to watch the XCO and DH? DSTV, never heard of her!
  4. So just remind me please ... on which platform can we watch the 2023 season again?
  5. If you are running them the wrong way around, you can improve your braking performance by first spraying a generous amount of WD40 on the front brake pads and rotor and then Q20 on the rear brake pads and rotors. This also helps with the noisy Shimano brakes if the humidity in the air exceeds 1%, never mind the howling when it rains. (Kids, if you are reading this, please do not do the above to your bike, or your friends bikes .... or your parents / siblings bikes ... you get the idea!)
  6. And Red Bikes are FASTER
  7. and SRAM is better
  8. Must be the best carrot cake in CT.
  9. So used the old cell as a GPS unit ... works fine, but at some point it struggled to establish connection .. though it did keep showing my GPS location in relation to the plotted route, which is really are you need. After the ride I realised I was being a dork, I should just use my new phone in my pocket as a Hotspot and then I will have the full function on the old cell phone. The idea of the old cellphone is that the camera on there can rattle and shake to bits and it really does not matter.....and if some scumbag tries to steel it at a traffic light, then it is not the end of the world.
  10. Better than replacing 14 metric bikes in that time frame, or 16 KTM's
  11. blah ... 100 000 miles and you have just broken in a Harley Engine
  12. If you live in Cape Town, and did not manage to get out on your bike today, then you missed on on some exceptional weather and ride time. Had the pleasure of having to ride out for an hour on back roads behind Durbanville to see a client, and then back again ........ two hours well spent. Did I mention with the new Screaming Eagle compensator fitted the bike is alive and starts first time every time, and my bike is running so well right now that it is an absolute pleasure to be on her.
  13. The one person I knew would like this post, liked it

  16. It could really have been anywhere, but my strongest suspicion is that it was with my last airport trip. I was away for three days and even though I park in the undercover parking, the bays I normally park in by the entrance were full, so I parked a little down the way, next to a column and by a wall that I thought would help with respect to not having cars or people come around the bike ... in hindsight it could have also given the person the perfect concealment to do what was done. If not this location, my stops are at sites that are "safe" or at shops running in to get something quickly.....no dodgy places like one would find @Duane_Bosch or @the nerd stopping at. Come to think of it, what kind of person would do that to the Harley .... must have been a GS or KTM rider Let's see what Pirelli have up their sleeve .... I am already a fan of them based on how their tyres have improved the ride of my bike, may just become a life long user like I am for Maxxiss tyres on my MTB
  17. No, I definitely did not ride over something, the cuts are across the tread and the other along the tread. The cut across the tread shows / looks like the person tried to cut it twice from this angle. Given that the side of the tank is densely chipped in a vertical direction, with a clear shape of what one would expect from a knife, or a sharp instrument, and there are trailing scratches from the chips going down the tank follows what would be a natural motion for a human being. Someone asked if it could be chips from riding, this I considered briefly, but if it was, the chips and scratches would be in a horizontal orientation if from a vehicle in front of me, or at an angle leading from my front wheel if it was from my front tyre. The density of the chips would also lead me to believe it was a person who was doing a repeated action in a short period of time, and doing this in quick succession on the "same spot". I also sent the pics to Pirelli in SA, they responded with a message that supports my theory, and from what they are saying (in an indirect way, that I would want to clarify with them), or what it seems like they are saying is that they are going to be sending me a replacement tyre ... not sure on the finite details around this.
  18. checked in with my insurance .... given the tank damage that the same chop did, I may just end up putting in a claim for the spraying of the tank, and the tyre replacement. If I go this route, the temptation is strong to then pay in to spray the front and rear fenders too and go a new colour
  19. I noticed something disturbing that I did not pick up before. Some box took a knife to my front tyre, noted this when my bike was on the jack at my mechanic this afternoon, and I was rotating the front wheel. What a $%@#^%#$ would do this to a bike.
  20. what's with all the vouchers .... get them in the local newspaper or something
  21. If you shopping at Cycle Lab, then be sure that you have already paid for the "free coffee and lube" I understood the unwritten rule in cycling is to NEVER DOUBLE DIP!
