  1. Seeing as you are in CT, take a look at Chem Labs in P/Island at R75 for a litre
  2. https://www.takealot.com/fiber-optic-isopropyl-cleaning-alcohol-99-9-500ml/PLID71574726 https://chemlabsupplies.co.za/product/isopropyl-alcohol-999-rubbing-alcohol/ https://essentiallynatural.co.za/products/isopropyl-alcohol-99-7 Three quick links via Google
  3. All the candle talk can double up as a romantic evening while melting the candles .... bonus. Scented or unscented candles? Keep the baby oil for other things. If you want to keep to 100 deg, a double boiler solution may be the safest with a larger pot with water brought to a boil, and your wax in a smaller pot being heated by the boiling water.
  4. What time roughly ... I have a meeting out in Kalkbay at 11am tomorrow, this will take about two hours and then head back home again .. may just be around the same time as you.... Will send you a direct message with my cell no.
  5. Take caution .... I was at Fire It Up recently testing a bike and I was told they are not buying in any bikes as they are going through a change of ownership / being purchased. So you do not know what will come from this transfer, especially if you have had issues with bikes you purchased from them before.
  6. More concerned about your cupboard taking the load of the batteries than your squatting capacity
  7. Also account for the Lead Acid batteries being as heavy as .... well as heavy as a lump of lead 🤣
  8. Ah, the best looking colour of the lot then
  9. Ok, shooting from the hip here, but this is what I get with ChatGPT The charge time does look a little short to me for a lead acid battery, though when I did the same for my LiPO solution at home it was rather accurate. Sooo.... Question: Grid charge = 60A as per the following link https://www.solar-europe.co.za/product/lux-power-inverter-5kw-off-grid-lux-sna5000wpv/ If I use Lux 5kva inverter with 8 x 12v 100ah lead batteries, this will give 48v and 200ah. If this is depleted to 50%, how long will it take to recharge with a 60A current charger. The lead acid batteries have a 70% efficiency Answer: To calculate the recharge time, we first need to determine the amount of energy that needs to be replenished: The total capacity of the batteries is 48V x 200Ah = 9,600 Wh. If the batteries are depleted to 50%, this means that 4,800 Wh of energy needs to be replenished. Now, let's calculate the time it would take to recharge the batteries with a 60A charger and a 70% efficiency: The charging power is 48V x 60A x 0.7 = 2,688 W. The time it would take to replenish 4,800 Wh of energy is 4,800 Wh / 2,688 W = 1.79 hours or approximately 107 minutes. Note that this is a theoretical calculation and actual recharge time may vary depending on various factors such as temperature, battery age, and charger efficiency.
  10. Do you know the Amps the inverter can charge at?
  11. Also avoid seeing up at what looks like it could be a slip route though the trees or plants do that you do not have people cutting corners and tripping over your tent pegs and stuff through the night
  12. Go really early and try to find a spot by the trees. Unpack at a relaxed page and start selling into the event. Pull up a chair a little later and watch later people frantically setting up tents and camp site's
  13. Always knew GS riders were closet Harley riders
  14. @MORNE1102 I would only trade with you if you passed the 1000 post rule #ScienceOfNotBeingScammed.
  15. except for the swim in the swamp at the Wiesenhoff camp ... that was a sketchy place to swim
  16. Enjoy ... team of 4 is a nice size. The only time I did a team thing, it was way too large, and was just not as fun as solo riding. Make sure you take the time to ride out to the dam after the long climb and go for a swim....if you get your last laps timing right, you can hook out that way before the final days 12:00 cut off, take a dip and finish the ride afterwards.
  17. Shimano are joining the party so late, they may just as well be patenting wireless single speed shifting .... or a lockout lever on your shifter to lock out your rigid fork.
  18. Flipping awesome @Headshot you going solo or in a team? Edit: this is one event I really miss doing.
  19. only the hearts and souls of those they passed every day
  20. you joke ........... I once met a rider training for the Epic ON THE CYCLE LANE who had a flat and did not know how to use his tubeless repair kit.
  21. Now you know the back markers all change their previous years Epic for the latest Epic just before the Epic.
  22. #RedBikesAreFaster ... and the 999 is redder than the Harley!
  23. Have you seen the price of replacement cables .. may be cheaper to replace the battery vs a new cable
  24. Cool, so @Headshot can rest easily then when doing the epic ... while blow drying his toupe for his day out on the bike, he can also just run the hair dryer over the contact points then
