Today was extremely hot, but I decided this year I should take every chance I can get to ride as I had so little opportunity last year. Was a short ride but a good one nonetheless.

Went for a ride with a mate this morning. Weather conditions were perfect for cycling. First pics on our town dam wall, right outside my back door. Then on to the old disused Villiersdorp road that goes past Brandvlei dam.

This afternoon my boy said he wanted to join so I took him for a 10km loop. He did pretty good especially since he's on a single speed.

Decided last week to start making time for cycling again. Went out on Thursday afternoon. And again on Saturday morning.

I spent my Christmas/New Years holiday locked up with Covid. Making every weekend a mini vacation now. Need to set the mood with the right shirt.😜

Took a coffee ride up to our local One-Tree-Hill on Sunday morning with my boy and opted for a detour home via the railway service road. Got stuck next to the railway, but fortunately I'm like The Hulk, I get strong when I get angry and then I pick up 800's.😁 Ps: these damn upside down pic's again....🤦‍♂️

This usually depends on what I'm looking for. Gear I don't buy new as it's moer expensive and there are lots of really good second hand stuff available on the market. Parts, chain's & sprockets etc., I will usually look on the websites of Motorcycle World, Flying Brick and Tracmac. These are all Cape Town based. Then for tyres I also go to the websites of Just Bike Tyre and Bike Tyre Warehouse. Hope this helps some.

Did a Tankwa trip with my usual riding group today. There were only 4 of us(and my son as pillion), but if you're leading or sweeping less is better. Headed to the Tankwa Padstal first followed by a kloof braai at the foot of Katbakkies Pass. It was extremely hot but fun nonetheless. 🤙

Was just about to mail you back, I don't usually give my bikes names, but when I joined that Rever app I had to name them to create my garage and yes, this one is now referred to as Bumblebee.😁

Tried now to load a clip of me starting my bike straight from my gallery but unsuccessful with that. Working from the phone plus being slightly technically "slow"....🤦‍♂️

I know there's some things the 1200 will be better at, but the 800 is a pretty good allrounder. It's like a oversized dirt bike in the tech stuff and has no problem munching up highway miles. Would only consider something bigger if I were to start doing longer distance touring.
