  1. Hi Ash, did you have any luck with this? Mine gave up the ghost yesterday, Help!
  2. So my Kickr Core just packed up yesterday in the middle of a ride... Stopped broadcasting power/speed/cadence despite showing it's connected. Can't get it to read speed on the app, my Garmin 520, or Trainerroad. Sadly Wahoo says it has a 6 week backlog servicing units due to the lockdown! Anyone had a similar experience or have any advice? So desperate, don't think I'll survive lockdown without!
  3. This: https://www.cyclelab.com/product/2020-titan-drone-expert-sx-hardtail-aluminium-mountain-bike or if not possible this: https://www.cyclelab.com/product/gt-avalanche-expert-29-mountain-bike-2019 For 13.5k?
  4. Sounds very close to where spruit MTB holdups took place recently?
  5. b.t.w. Barry Murry is a good source of cycling nutrition knowledge. Previously worked with BMC pro cycling team and big proponent of lower carb diets
  6. Hey Gary! Have a look at superstarch, available here as Ucan. $$$ but seems to make sense for fat-adapted athletes. Malto-dextrin doesn't have fructose. Nor does a beer though ;-) Tim
  7. In an interview with Health24 the Vitality CEO claims there are other free apps that are linked with Vitality and will continue to allow HR data uploading. Any idea what these are? http://m.health24.com/health24/Medical-schemes/News/we-spoke-to-discovery-vitality-ceo-about-recent-changes-to-rewards-20160304 "Health 24: Are there free alternatives for the affected users? Shrey Viranna: There are free apps that fit the criteria that are integrated with us. "
  8. Swift carbon bikes. Great bikes, good prices, fantastic service!
  9. Funny thing is he did phone 112. And 082 911 etc. Only to get a recorded message saying the mailbox was full... I disagree with all the naysayers who feel this was a money grabbing exercise. And the ones that say the bottlenecks were solely newbies at the back of the field (I've been riding for 12 years, don't do many races, got to start in T, and spent over an hour standing still according to my GPS recording, and probably another hour going less than 10 kph behind someone's wheel). The man who broke his pelvis is also anything but inexperienced. He is the chairman of one of the big cycling clubs in JHB. Point is not that he fell or that the course was too difficult - it wasn't. Point is that you do not compromise on medical assistance. 2 hrs wait during an event in the middle of JHB with a serious injury? Not acceptable
  10. We're probably talking about same person, but he broke his pelvis in 3 places. Needs surgery. What is worse is that it took over two hours to get an ambulance... Within a stone's throw of William Nicole road! Not acceptable.

    The Classics

Well spotted. Also looks like he suddenly lost lots of that ripped muscle in the overhead shot. (yes I'm a bit jealous)
  12. Zaskar09, did you settle on the Silverback? Any feedback? Am in a similar position and difficulty deciding on a +- R10k road bike. Also looking at 2011 Merida 904, Cannondale CAAD8 tiagra, and now of course the axis AR 30. ?
  13. Where is your LBS Face Plant?
  14. Hi Justin. No the Bontrager superstock is not tubeless ready. You can either stick in a BMX tube or a plastic rim strip (I had one in there for a while, so it fits). The tire that is on there currently (Crossmark) is not UST, but it is the one I ran with that tubeless setup. It sealed fine but I had to pump it up a bit every week or so. Regards, Tim
