Too true I went from a 26' scalpel to the 29' flash (both carbon dales) and have never looked back Climbing is better and generaly more stable.......and not toooo bad on comfort. I did the 36one on her at the begining of the year and survived.

Hi Kandui Tried a 42/26 combo at Trans this year.........worked like a dream (11hour 55min) You missed out this year.

Stoked.........we made the first page of the unofficial results with very little training! We were gunning for 13hours but managed 11:55 Gonna have to do a 11:30 next year

Going lite this year.........! Gonna ride with my head-lamp and put my main light in half-way box(Bergplaas).....just in case we have a mechanical and get to half-way after sundown! As far as kit is concerned..........1 pair of socks and a clean shirt at half-way.

Trans is a very well catered for race. The water tables are stocked with something for everyone. Just remember that what you eat during the race will only help you the next day.

SPEZ has to bring a truck to fix all the broken Spezzes! Rode a Scalpel for 2 years without any problems........riding a Flash 2 29er now......what a beast-Just had the frame replaced because of a broken water bottle cage lug-brilliant service! They even gave me an upgrade to a Flash 1 frame because they had no Flash 2's Lefty Rocks

Fizik Gobi Spent 21 hours on it non-stop for the 36one(on a hard-tail)......and was ready to get back on it the next morning! Got a Planet-X on my girl bike(road bike).......a close second!

....so the only thing preventing a 26/42 combo should be the throw of the front derailleur?

Does anybody know of any reason why they only offer 26/39 & 28/42 and not a 26/42? I played around on a freinds Cannondale Flash 2 with a FSA SLK crank............he is very happy with the combo claiming he has the best of both worlds.

Gotta say.......Raleigh has got one of the best badges out there
