  1. Just a heads up to be alert if traveling on the N2 through the towns in the Transkei. Almost lost my Pyga off the tow hitch rack while caught in the traffic in Qumbu today.
  2. I have a PR1600 and am really happy with it. Over 2 years old now so battery not as strong as it used to be. Lasts about an hour on high beam for MTB in the dark but will go all day in blink mode on the road.
  3. Wrap an ice pack around the seat post for 15 minutes. Aluminum has a high coefficient of expansion, carbon fibre practically zero. The seat post will shrink and can be worked loose. Boiling water will make it tighter as the seat post will expand. Coke will make a mess. The cause is galvanic corrosion between the carbon fibre and aluminium. Periodically remove the seat post and clean off the oxide, lightly grease and reinsert to prevent seizing.

Twin-ply toilet roll in the toilets. Didn't expect it and was a pleasant surprise, especially after a long day in the saddle. Sorry to be abstract.

    One word: "twin-ply".
  6. I was similar. Worked in a hifi shop as a student and my current car was the first to approach the cost of my hifi. Never really stopped buying music on vinyl.
  7. Running 29" KOM rims with Hope hubs on my Pyga. No problems at all, despite my racing weight being 98kg.
  8. I've had mine for just over a year. Last year I did Hill2Hill, Berg & Bush Descent and Wines2Whales with it, with no problems. It climbs well (better than my old 26" hardtail) and loves single track (even the W2W switchbacks). Go for it. This year I swapped out a 110mm Fox fork for a 130mm Rockshox Revelation, which added even more fun.
