  1. "Wait for your box" - so, it's OK for you or anybody else to have a mechanical on route, but OH, BOY, just not the poor truck moving the boxes......you sound like a typical roadie... 1 box got incorrectly packed by the Underberg Primary School.....1 out of 4,500....jeesh, that's a bloody good percentage....(sorry, it had to be yours!) Cold shower......you are definitely a roadie and not a REAL MTB'er!! Rather, be grateful to have had the opportunity to have ridden THE BEST TRAILS in SA for over 3 days......think of everything that went right!!! and start to list them....
  2. Doing the Lionman with "no training at all"....is not to be advised.....!! ha-ha-ha...well done!!
  3. Well done....keep at it!! One of these days, you'll join us in the marathon ranks!!
  4. My marathon result exactly as I measured it via my Garmin......4h12m48s (no complaints from me!).
  5. Where did you get the results??? it's not on Spectrumsport...I JUST checked!!
  6. Site is down again! 504 Gateway Time-Out
  7. I do not know how SpectrumSport in gonna sort out the winners time, who finished only later, due to incorrect route and a marshall putting a rubbish bin in front of the split boards.....good luck to them....maybe that's why they are taking soooooo looooong to post the results!!
  8. My 1st Lionman.....wow, it was GREAT! Technical, sandy, rocky, warm, lekka climbs, hair raising descents!!! Went twice over the handlebar....1st time a girl went down in front of me and in trying to avoid her, I crashed....and then in the final 2 km's on that loose rocky stuff, I lost it and went down.....Did the 77km marathon in 4h12m. Happy with that! It was good Sani2C final prep!!
  9. Will the 75km route profile be posted somewhere....or have I missed it???
  10. he-he-he...
  11. I made the necessary changes.... http://connect.garmin.com/activity/168334692
  12. Oops sorry! I'll have a look at "strava"....I'll check all my setting on my Garmin site again....that "public" can view it!
  13. http://connect.garmin.com/activity/168334692 For those who got lost .....this is (was) the correct route....
  14. Lekka fast race with icecold beers and pizza at the end....I pushed my heart a bit!! happy with my time of 2h51 for the longer route (75km, which turned out to be 67km!). Average Heart rate = 177bpm.....(hit 192 max HR in the race)....not to bad for a old toppie!!....IT WAS DUSTY!!! BUT LEKKA!!
  15. The 80km route really tested me last year!! It was winter in Gauteng and SUMMER there.... Great race!! Great atmosphere afterwards.....ICE COLD BEERS!!!
  16. Good on you "Hairy" for this post!
  17. Thanks, I must be honest...I was never aware of that!
  18. So if I ordered a medium 2012 Specialized Epic S Works, I will not get this frame?
  19. I was not refering to size...but year model...
  20. Fact is that their 2 frames differ in appearance!
  21. So you wanna tell me this one is a large And this one is a medium So why does the Specialized site then specify one as the 2012 model frame and the other as the 2011 frame?
  22. Picture posted above!
  23. Has anyone noticed in this year's Cape Epic that Burry's 29'er frame is not the same as Sauser's 29'er frame??? It would seem as if Sausie is on the 2012 Specialized Epic S Works 29'er and Burry on the 2011 Specialized Epic S Works 29'er.... Have a close look a pics and TV tonight....... I'll in the mean time try to source pics, but I have for sure noticed a difference in their 29'er frames where the top tube meets the seat post! Wonder why??? A personal prefference by Burry to ride the 2011 model! ------------------------- Here is the pic!!! Burry's left....Sauser's at the back (right)...notice where the top tube meets the seat post.....Sauser's is for sure the 2012 model Epic 29'er and Burry's the 2011 Epic 29'er!
