  1. I have no idea, but I suggest not to look into it while its on...... (you might need a walking stick afterwards) oh, ja...and I paid R649 for mine on the Groupon deal.
  2. I bought the Extreme 1200 lumens light via the Groupon deal......it is as bright as a train light coming towards you in a tunnel!! It will fulfill all your needs.....3 hours light on max setting!! indeed value for money for such a bright light.
  3. You bet!! ....you guys are da BEST!
  4. There WILL ALWAYS be a diffirent element and MINDSET to these 2 stage races......in the EPIC it's about ego's and the best of the best....they will cut your board number regardless........if you do the joBerg2C, they WILL NEVER cut your board number.....they'll rather bring you in due to safety concerns,etc......and tomorrow there you go gain!! ENJOY THE RIDE!! With mindsets like that, the two are worlds apart..... The one is made in heaven for mountainbikers...... the other one is created on earth for racers..... you decide which one fits where.....
  5. JIP!! I AGREE....THANKS FIXING MY POST.... ...the TRAILS are indeed AWESOME!!
  6. Yes, I played a very small role in cleaning and working on the Karan Beef tracks on day 1 of Joberg2C.....BUT, all the honour for that goes to my good mate, KnobbyMech!!
  7. +1,000,000 (spot on!)
  8. Jip, also wanted to say that.....I you read the tweets from the top riders at the Freedom Challenge and their gear, they all ride with SealSkinz!! Nuff said!
  9. More KnobbyMech!
  10. I think......you can not compare the 2.....EPIC is EPIC and the Joberg2C is a JOURNEY, a ride that you will never forget!! In Joberg2C it's about the race villages, the tracks, the comraderie, the awesome communities, their waterpoints, the food, the free Seattle Coffee, the Karan Beef steaks, the AWESOME organisation!! It's a JOURNEY from Heidelberg to Scottburgh! As they say at the Joberg2C.....the route is KING!!! I think I might also be biased.....sorry!
  11. ja, good question....one I would also like an answer too.... I am 44 years (male) Fairly fit Max HR 194 In 70/75km MTB marathons, I almost always average my HR between 172-177 beats per minute for the full duration of the race....(anything from 2h45m for a race up to 3h30...depending on the difficulty of the race) Is it a good thing....I dunno...but, I've been doing it for more than a year, since I really upped my fitness.
  12. Very, very sad....condolences to the family! All I want to say!
  13. Fark me!! John Deere tyres!
  14. .....and what did the statement say? if I may ask?
  15. ha-ha-ha!! good one!
  16. Don't start mr HED...don't start....
  17. Thank you!
  18. Stupid Question.....but, it is a question?? Is the Suikerbosrand Nature Reserve still open to cyclists?
  19. +1...agree 100%. The later start of the shorter distances really assisted the marathon riders....last year I cursed towards the end due to congestion....this year I only smiled... Well done indeed to Tim and the team!
  20. +1 Absolutely!! She is currently the only lady that gives Arianne Kleynhans a run for her money in MTB Marathons.....that is if she is not actually beating her!! Great form she has at the moment!!
  21. Sell what bike??......just got myself a new frame before Sani and built up a new bike.....old one in pieces, not for sale at the moment....!!
  22. My 1st proper long Monster (70km one). I also questioned my sanity for entering the event JUST AFTER SANI about halfway into the race!! One gets spoiled by Sani's manicured trails! In my head I was cursing every sandy patch, rock, long grassy sections..... (in my head I was also telling myself...stop cursing and HTFU....harden the &uck up!!). But, I slayed the Monster and I am happy with 4h28m! It must be one of the toughest MTB races out there!! Very well organised and excellent food stalls and COLD beers afterwards....and I must have had 4 cups of Rehydrat afterwards!! But, I'll see if I do it again next year....straight after Sani...
  23. 2nd place Meron Russom (MTN).....thought he also deserves a mention, seeing that he did beat 3rd place....
  24. A bit late, seeing that it's done for the year, but apparently the ULTRA LIONMAN at Mabalingwe!!
