Yep, I am seriously considering it!!
  2. I am not referring to her team mates, but the other teams....Bizhub, MTN, MECER....as it was said....they gave up and raced for 2nd place...

Good to see those bees did NOT take away your sense of humour!!! Regards to Annie! What is next on your agenda....Epic again!!? or maybe Joberg2C?
  4. Jip, she was send out as carrot and the MTN team and others did not chase her down....couldn't.....she really showed our local girls that they are indeed not up to par!! She definitely have some BIG ones to go out alone, so far out, in the heat and wind and pull it off....by more than 5minutes....kudos to her!!!

Where do you find or see your road seeding.....MTB is very transparent, but the road seeding makes my head spin.....in 94.7, I was in A....6 weeks prior for Race for Victory, I was in E....

Hi G-Unit (Geoff), Thanx man!! Are you doing better and back to normal after those Cape Pioneer Trek bees stung you?? Nope, my road bike is not a S Works, but a S Cott.....ha-ha-ha Keep well. Cheers, Gerhard

After a year of road racing, as I am a MTB'er at heart, this was my 2nd 94.7 (it's the first road race that I've done twice). I somehow got seeded in group A (last year I started out of group LL), but for a 44 year old, that laaities have got no respect for their elders.....http://1.1.1.4/bmi/cdn.bikehub.co.za/forum//public/style_emoticons/default/laugh.png .....A bunch is surely not for me. But, I am happy with my 2h43m. I was indeed well organised and I'll take the wind and heat above rain any day!!! Well done to all who finished! ......I'll be back.

Well done Blitzer!! 3h20m outa group MM on MTB is awesome! Must have been the Cape Pioneer Trek riding that made you so strong!! Get that road bike, its easier on maintenance and good for training.....hope to see you at the coast in December and at Joberg2C next year!
  12. You have to put the stake in the ground and 1 Jan 2013 is fair in my eyes.....so riders like NH and HF can count themselves lucky....but, someone like DG....sorry, but in 2 year's time CWC will not offer you a contract, nor should any other team.... All of the best to Team CWC! ......I like it and will keep on supporting them online!
  13. Could not have been an easy decision, but I guess they want to send the same message, as did Barloworld......if 1 team mates dopes....then Asta la Vista baby...were are out ta here..... Very sad, but I am sure it was the reality and conditions when they signed them up.....well done King George!!

    A for me.....eish! RACE ON!!
  15. Plesier Franna! Ek het regtig soooo min gedoen. Hoede af vir wat jy vermag het, Pel ! Jy het vrek baie tyd en effort ingesit in al die vooraf beplanning, uitleg van die roete, die marking en die saambring van alles Saterdag. Blerrie well done my vriend!! Ek moet nog een negatiewe kommentaar hoor!! Van hier af kan jy die race net verder vorentoe neem en nog verbeter!!!
  16. I am just so darn glad I finished my 1st 7-day stage race, that being the 2012 Cape Pioneer Trek. In typical rookie fashion, I got caught up in the Prologue hype and hussle and bussle of stage 1 from Oudtshoorn to Calitzdorp......and started off way too fast and pushed my HR and legs a bit too much!! I also gave it some stick up the Swartberg pass during stage 2. In stage 3 from Prince Albert to De Rust, I started to notice that my power had deserted me, as I battled on most of the climbs....BUT, it was stage 4 through the Kammanassie that was the worst day in my life on a mountainbike. I truly battled to turn the pedals on that day of "only" 64km's!!! It took me over 6 hours to complete that day to Louvain (Herold)!! From then on to George and from George to Oudtshoorn, it became a matter of survival for me. I honestly underestimated the rugged and unforgiving terrain of the Karoo......and also my conditioning and preparation were not what I thought they were..... BUT, it was the most exhilarating experience that I have ever done. I truly feel so sorry for G-Unit and his wife who could not officially finish the Cape Pioneer Trek due to their attack by the bees on stage 1......what a absolutely freak accident! But, for them it just means unfinished business and that's why I am sure they will go back in 2013....it was great to meet so many new people, i.e. G-Unit and his wife, James Thompson (Olympic Gold medalist) and partner Caroline, Eben Laubsher, Tinus Venter and Gert Marx (Team Mad Dogz) who rode with me from the Kammanassie to Oudtshoorn. This is what the Trek is all about! The Cape Pioneer Trek provided me the opportunity to ride this race as a solo entry....and that worked for me and many other solo entry riders!! Thanks Dryland! This IS a mountainbiker's race, good wholesome hospitality at the overnight towns, perfect organisation, marvelous routes, testing TERRAIN and everyone chats to everyone! This is a winning formula that will see the Cape Pioneer Trek going from strength to strength!!! I will be back in 2013! Better prepared and knowing what to expect from the Karoo!
  17. I am sure the barman will supply the brannafien to go with the Coco-Cola (sic).....
  18. All of the best to her.....seeing what she did to the competition in the SA Marathon MTB Champs, she's gonna become an even better MTB rider!! With Burry's knowledge and staying with Jeroen, she's gonna dominate locally and then move overseas.....won't surprise me if she does ride for Specialized (USN - co-sponsor) next year!!
  19. None of that! We'll see each other at the finish line!
  20. Yes, call me "solo guy".....but I see many okes and gals in the solo category that can keep me company......during the ride and afterwards in the race village (OK, here I'll exclude the okes!!)http://1.1.1.4/bmi/cdn.bikehub.co.za/forum/public/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.png I see I am off at 12h12......gonna give me lots of time to shower, get my bike washed and then cheered on the G-Unit team and Kevin and da pro's!
  21. Me driving down Thursday, returning Tuesday/Wednesday.....staying in Hartenbos before and after the race!
  22. Ja, half a dozen of the one and six of the other! We'll just have to take it as we get it!! When are you guys going down? driving? flying to George?
  23. ......2 weeks till the start!!!
