  8. Same feelings about him... but he is a real student of the game, and I think he might just turn out to become a legend, as longs as the board room just leaves him alone to coach...
  9. I'm getting to the age when it would be acceptable for me to carry the cane around...
  10. I happen to own one of their canes - very basic one. Was lucky enough to buy it of a guy who needed money... Didn't even know they made knives. Their craftsmanship is exquisite.
  11. The calculation of the amount really is (or should be) mere mathematics. First step is to determine what the child's maintenance needs are, and then to do the calculations. Principle is that parents are equally liable, but that obviously doesn't fly when dad earns R50k and mom R15k... so it really is (should be) simple arithmetic. Regards 18 years - that is because kids in the normal run turns 18 after matric. A child becomes a major at 18 - after 18 the child has the capacity to sue daddy himself for his maintenance... So if child goes to university and daddy can afford it, he can sue daddy for maintenance while he is studying. NB!!! DISCLAIMER!!! These are the very basic principles on the questions asked. There are hundreds of different scenarios and each case will have different facts and different rulings. Edit: spelling & mistake
  12. The obligation to pay maintenance for your kid/s is "cast in stone", the amount not... If you loose your job, immediately go to the maintenance officer at the Magistrate's Court where she/the kids live and report it.
  13. Yep, we did. Had a lekker weekend. Rode the 70km Crossing Boundaries MTB event on Saturday, took it really easy. Sunday we jumped on the C2T route about 75km from end (Tonteldoos). Road condition is really not bad - it's gravel district roads. On some of the real steep ups and downs the gravel is loose, and they've had some rain - so there are some deepish ruts here and there. (The downhill going into Stoffberg at about 220km is awesome, but luckily I won't be doing that in darkness...) Out of Stoffberg is long drags. Korfnek Pass is really steep, and rough, and the lots of gravel and (smaller) boulders makes it difficult, but both my mates rode it out. (I didn't finish Korfnek - I specifically wanted to check that last part of the route to find out if my legs on my gear ratio would be able to do it... and nope, me on 1x10 with 34 front and 11-36 back am not going to cook it...) Instead of turning left to Tonteldoos at the T after Korfnek, we turned right and rode to Dullstroom - which was much tougher that the ride from the T to Tonteldoos - I have ridden that road before, and there is a last short but sharp sting in the tail just after the T on the way to Tonteldoos, but thereafter it's fairly easy. All in all - 77km - 1275m climbing. Pump, and I mean, PUMP, and bring your climbing legs... Just before we reached Korfnek, 3 cyclists came from the front. We stopped and chatted - and met the owner of the C2T race, Rob (I think/hope it's Rob - I was bleeding bit through my eyes there) and Johan, the only bloke who finished the very first C2T. Was really awesome to chat to them - they left Cullinan on Thursday, rode the route to Tonteldoos, and were on their way back again on Sunday. (Edit: Spelling)
  14. Thanks. We're going to check it out this weekend.
  15. Is Korfnek pass on the road between Dullstroom and Tonteldoos itself, or is it before the turn-off left to Tonteldoos on the Dullstroom-Tonteldoos road?
  16. Also check out the fb page, there's been a couple entries up for sale there.
  17. Not enough...
  18. Thanks to all, specially JanJan. Will go check.

  20. Ok. So this getting closer and closer, and my nerwe raak dunner en dunner. I have never ridden anything having to follow route on gps... Also, how do I get the route on that OsmAnd app? Can I load the route on Google some way? Please help a technologically challenged toppie here please...

If there is 1 guy who knows what he's talking "aboot", it's Mikey.... one guy not scared to speak his mind in plain common language. Cannot agree more. It's an absolute disaster of a pitch. Even if they continue pay tomorrow, this match will be tainted forever, plus we don't stand ice cube's chance in hell to pull this off...

"12:01pm, Lunch The umpires have taken the break and have hung around after the players have gone off. They're in conversation with the ground staff. Both Bethuel Buthelezi, the groundsman, and Chris Scott, the consultant, are now observing the pitch and the crack that's causing the issues." "Firdose Moonda tells me from the ground that they're hearing that the likelihood of the Test being called off has diminished."
