  1. Agree. We sucked.
  2. If I may get back to this riddle. Showed this to my son, he's a geek... He reckons the one with the glasses is not Harry Potter - no scar and much older, and is probably one of the Dr Who doctors (whoever that might be). He says the odd ones not in Marvel are Batman and Mr Manhattan - the blue bloke back right of centre - he is one of the Watchmen. What says?
  3. This actually belongs on the Braai thread, but whatever... My favourite too, but I braai'ed this yesterday... (sorry, forgot to take pic while on fire or afterwards... it was during the rugby) Was absolutely firkin gorgeously amazing...
  4. Sent you a pm.
  5. That a GT?
  6. Plus the rest of the Royals don't like Corgi's...
  7. I have several Brooks'... best saddle ever. Mine are all B17's - the standard (don't know the width...) I tried a B17 Narrow, and it hurt. Same with a Cambium. I think the 160 will definitely be more comfy for you than the 175, but don't go narrower than what you need.
  8. At Aardklop they invite kids from Youth Choirs around the country for a 3 day workshop, culminating in a show with a well known artist/band on the Saturday eve in the Beeld Auditorium at NWU. Last year it was with Chris Chameleon, this year with Parlotones. I will not miss it ever again.
  9. Agree 1000%!!! But then I am a real sucker for choirs...
  10. Tears...? No chap, dis snot en trane....
  11. I've been playing bass in church for years. One stage all three guitarists in the group (wouldn't call it a band) were lefties playing right-handed.
  12. Was my first thought too when I heard.
  13. I got one for my tenth birthday... I couldn't wait to get back from school, then spent whole afternoon setting the track up and "running in" the cars... Still one of my best presents ever... (Edit: spelling)
  14. Not 'n donder... poepstoel.
  15. Like when I go check up on my son at NWU in Potch beginning of Oct with Aardklop. Edit: Just before finals....
  16. Ah no **** man... really?
  17. (1) Can't agree more, I see it daily in my work. (2) Was the same with us - so we adopted. Blessed with two beautiful kids...
  18. I braai'ed the ribbetjies above... nothing else, just braai'ed it. So it must be a braai... But whatever. I agree with you. Really not worth effort to argue about it. Let's just braai. Each to his own.
  19. DJ!! Absobloodylutely awesome... I overdid them some on the grill, but it was my first time, so I was happily forgiven. We had some prawns I also had to get rid of, was getting old in the freezer... which was done in my standard lemon-garlic-butter sauce. We didn't do the mayonnaise, simply because ... uhh, I don't know why. Maybe the wine caught up - it was a Sauvignon Blanc though... When we dished up, the tuna was a bit dry (slightly overdone like I said, ja, ja, I'm sorry, sorry...) But then... inspiration... had some of that "standard lemon-garlic-butter sauce" over the tuna. Oh. My. Word. Divine is not the word. It was pure bliss. I have not eaten this lekker in plenty, pleeenty years, and I like food, I know meat, I braai literally every single weekend.... So thanks. I did not do your recipe, but you put me on track for something truly amazing and awesomely good. (I'll do that mayo thing sometime, but I doubt it will be better. Thanks)
  20. I will most definitely watch...
  21. M2cw. Nowhere near a classic, nowhere near the 2011 game Nigel Owens reckons the highlight of his refereeing career. We (the Boks) were outplayed in literally every single department - just check the stats - for one - 75-25 possession in favour of AB's. We made 140 more tackles than the AB's, 140 more in 80 minutes!!! That alone is insane... BUT. That is what makes this game one for the the history books. The Boks were AWESOME! Simply just that. I missed the first half - went cycling, 'cause I did not want to watch. About 200m from my gate a neighbour (an avid WP supporter like me) was watering his garden... I shouted - Why you not watching? His response: ***. They scored in 5 minutes... Then I got home - and discovered we were ahead half-time... It was not mooi. It was not pretty. It was not classic. But it was pure, suiwer, undiluted raw GRIT. HEART. DETERMINATION. EAT ****. GET UP. DO IT AGAIN. AND AGAIN. AND AGAIN. And THAT made this an epic, awesome, amazing, forever to be remembered game... I also made fun of the Boks in the week, wrote them off, thought (like Mallett) if we can stay within 20 points of the mighty AB's, it will be well done... But in that last minutes when they were hammering on our door, I wasn't sitting down - just like that damn cricket game in England when we lost to Aus by one run (Alan Donald and Klusener...) But today I thought: **** Siya, I am proud. You and the boys were absobloodylutely AWESOME today!!! You made me proud. And that is all I want. To be proud. That you gave your all, did your best. What you did today, is what we're about. Peter-Steph's tears after the whistle... that... is all I ask. Now let's KLAP them back here. Please. You play like today, you'll slap them... please? (PS: You will anyway always for me be that "brother in jail". I don't talk about you or like what you did, but I will always love you...)
  22. Thanks. Kindly elaborate on the "tropical fruit salsa"?
  23. Thanks DJ. Will try out. Sounds like my kinda meal, but I have some "not-so-educated" friends... So I think... I'll just keep those for myself, and just serve them some (common) rump.
