  1. uhm...I see I was 'evert'ing instead of giving it some 'effort' Bos, then you were flying, because he finished in a good time. Well done. Thanks Ronelle. No worries.
  2. Nice pic Bos. I actually know one of the guys that were infront of you (Orbis/Le Tour top). Ronelle, I emailed you via the torque site. Thanks for the email back... "Thanks for your enquiry, but I took very few road race pics and didnt bother to upload them!" Yesterday I was still nice. Today I'm sommer de moer in. I'm contacting Action Photo today. I put a lot of evert into training for that crap race (hill after hill, after freakin hill) and I did the sticker thing on the helmet (making you look like a dork)...SO - HAD STICKER, WANT PICTURE! (Sorry for my little rant. I know its not your fault. )
  3. Rory, yes, I did. Ronelle, thanks a mill. Will have a look.
  4. Thanks Droo, you answered my question without knowing it, it seems. So there wasn't two numbers... I can't believe it, but there are no pics of me on my number on their site, which is quite weird because I have such an adorable face, you'd think someone would have snapped me. All that work and not even a pic to prove it. Darn.
  5. Yes, via email, but it didn't give the answers I need nl. yes (you had two numbers) or no (you didn't). Emailed them back...waiting for reply.
  6. To cut a long story short...I lost my race numbers. My question is - were we given two numbers? One race number (I was in the AB group) and one Action Photo number. Can't find any pics of me on Action Photo with my AB number (with or without the AB) and was wondering if the two numbers weren't different. The mountainbike racers were given only one number... I could wait for them to send it to me, but with Action Photo you just don't know how long that will take.

  8. Woolie, private me your cell number and we can talk.
  9. To me "innocent until proven guilty" means he walked out of court an innocent man. I will remember him for his brilliant music. Having said that, some of the jokes doing the rounds are really funny (bite me). Did you hear he survived the Titanic... I'm not going to say anymore. Google it. It will be floating around somewhere on the internet.
  10. Nice tag line Wonder Woman...
  11. Why is it a problem 'following your man's sport'? It's called being considerate. Now we have a lot to talk about and get excited about the same sport. I wouldn't trade my kids for the world. Luckily I had them before the cycling bug bit, so 'giving up nine months' of my life wasn't a problem. (Real cyclists should bounce back easily.) As for the 'human being' comment and cycling in the early hours of the morning, been there, done that... oh wait, still doing that. Anyway, this thread started with a unfair generalization. It?s unnecessary and thats my point.
  12. If 'real' ladies were able to get their long rides in over weekends, their husbands would have to sacrifice their long rides and family time, but seeing as the 'real' ladies are considerate and accommodating (even tho they also dream of a sub 3 Argus, but alas training time...) they squeeze their long rides in somewhere in the middle of the week when they are also very tired and stressed about all the work that still needs to be done.
  13. I agree. Epic riders...respect. Daai race issie vi sissies.
  14. Condolences to family and friends. Mooi loop Wandile.

    Training

    Ja swaer. Me too.
  16. Grubbie, that sounds good to me. I just can't ride on a Monday and a Friday. I'll send you my cell no and we can chat. Switchback, good luck! I'm also going to the Knysna, but doing the road race. Hope you do well.
  17. DC training team...in other words you are no rookie. I'd be keen to ride with you or any other ladies of the SS (road and/or mountain), but the problem is, are we on the same page ability / fitness wise. I hate riding with someone if I know I'm keeping them back and they aren't getting the training they should because of me. Private me if you are interested and we can chat. (You aren't by any chance Angelpie?)
  18. Its not just freaky. Its bloody unfair, but hey, life is unfair. Its that ability versus talent thing again. Good on Mr. Motobecane. I hope he realises he has talent and makes the most of it because I think people like that have a moral obligation to use it.
  19. Don't you dare!
  20. Note how most of the really funny stuff (with the exception of "acciiiiideeeent" - that was hilarious), was in Afrikaans. You've got to love my language!
  21. Who needs motivation when you are healthy and able to ride. I would give just about anything to ride all year but winters I'm normally stuffed for medical reasons. Get on your bike, say thank you I can ride all year long and forget about the cold. Count your blessings.
  22. Any ladies who would like to join me for MTB rides from May 2009, either Tuesday or Thursday mornings (we can talk) up to mast and back to Arboretum, would be great. Just thinking it will be winter soon so early morning road rides will become almost impossible (I don't do cold very well), plus everyone tells me MTB training is the best. So, if MTBing is new to you like it is to me, contact me and we can brave the forest together.
