Think football like all sports is cyclical. A team gets to the top, hangs about a while and then goes into decline. United should have stuck with Moyes a year or 2 longer. No continuity. But I guess that’s modern day football. We want results and we want them now.

Reality is that both Chelsea and United underperforming relative to their spend. And this game is a must win to kick start any euro ambitions. I am surprised United are underdogs to be honest. But we see, I could lose a fiver or make a tenner.

Tonight, at the theatre of dreams Chelsea are the bookies favourite. Which I find quite surprising. So put a fiver on United at 2:1. can’t understand the logic of having United at home as the underdogs considering they are above Chelsea in the league. Sure, on recent form Chelsea are looking better but hey it’s a desperate man who bets against United at home.

I hear you man. It’s why most folks leave. I left much too late in life. I will never have the material things I had in ZA as far as big house, fancy cars and the like but I am far happier here. Walk my dog in the forests etc. it’s something worth aspiring too. Not perfect but I have no concern for my or my families personal safety. Good luck. a watch is replaceable, an education lasts a lifetime. But start looking now overseas, possibly an opportunity presents.

It will be worth it in the long run. Take heart. Knuckle down and get distinctions. Possessions can be bought again. just a point I want to raise. In a previous post you mentioned you can build a hell of a life in ZA, or something like that. If you can why would you look at moving?

Hey, I battle to work one day a week but alas. the trial here was successful too. But in time it becomes the new normal and productivity will go to previous levels I reckon. Ultimately though as we move to a knowledge economy this is going to happen. To attract personnel companies are using good incentives like work from home and reduced hours. will it work in ZA, I see no reason why not. But obviously the ZA economy is more labour orientated like mines and farms etc and those industries need hands on all the time.

Never going to hurt your career getting a degree that’s for sure. and my experience echoes what you mention. Many companies now insist on a tertiary education before employing , I can only see this becoming more stringent in the future to be honest.

Yeah, I agree. Guess it’s to flesh out the characters. Only thing which I forgot to mention is that his daughters come across as self indulgent snivelling brats. I hope they are embarrassed when they watch themselves.
