  1. During Covid a mate of mine bought a high end Trek e bike, paid 5700 for it. Demand was there and well the pricing milked the scenario. After Covid and when supply was restored the same bike was a grand less. short term profit over long term sustainability has its consequences.
  2. Mmmm , a little more to the story than initially thought.
  3. After Chelsea’s drubbing this week, talk is bye bye poch. makes sense. Billion pound squad and not very good. Jackson is a disaster.
  4. Sadly I see the pure and cool roadhouse is burning out/ burnt down. now, what would that have to do with motorcycles. Well, us older folks will remember the shenanigans back in the 80s there. What memories.
  5. “Big bicycle industry company”. Really? Do you remember the Pioneer power meter lot. Stopped production moons ago, long before your theory of doom and gloom. what we fail to realise is that even in boom times companies fail to stay afloat. For a variety of reasons but mostly due to bad business models and failure to read the market and company and products). Even during the cycling boom chain reaction was making horrific losses and Evans was downsizing. Evans was clever though and saw the market trends early. Ole Mike Ashley is much maligned but an astute businessman. despite Stages hitting the wall, folks are still buying 325 grand pinnarello’s and 300 grand Spez bicycles. And manufacturers are still making them. however, we need to be cognisant of the fact that cycling as we know it is relatively niche, but cycling itself is universal. It will thrive. So buy that dikwiel and cycle on.
  6. when I was in the telecoms industry dealing with ICASA was a bloody nightmare. https://uk.pcmag.com/networking/151883/spacex-to-shut-off-starlink-access-for-users-outside-availability-areas
  7. If I was to do long way round, or long way down or long way somewhere it would be on a T7. Can’t fault them for that. They perfect, reliable, fuel efficient and 72 horses more than enough.
  8. mate of mine had a KTM 790 adv. lovely bike and very capable. At 16 000 miles he took it for a service and they determined the cam shafts are worn. Replaced at a cost to my mate. He decided to investigate this and it seems a very widespread issue. Almost like the Honda VF saga and later the Ducati 916 issue. A bit of research shows this is a big problem for all 790/890/901 motorcycles up to around 2023 year of manufacture. Newer bikes just not done the mileage yet to see if the new motors have the same issue. KTM ain’t replacing under warranty.
  9. WSBK race today was like the heydays of super bike racing. What a race. Watch it if you can.
  10. I never played it much but I played a lot of Tetris back in the day. I even started dreaming I was playing Tetris and realised it was no good for my mental health so quit. 😂
  11. I have a thing for churches. Anyway , today I was on my way to Dorking brewery for a pint and Lo and behold I rode past this church. Had to take a few snaps. The vicar was mowing the lawn so had a good chat too. Built in 1890. I have lived in the area for 7 years and first time I have seen it. Magnificent. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holmbury_Hill
  12. One could use Boeing as an example hey. Oh wait.
  13. And another dismal evening for English football.
  14. Not a good night for English football but city had so many chances, only themselves to blame really.
  15. Went and watched Dan Patlansky on Saturday in Camden. A monster guitarist and a brilliant musician. Important to support live music wherever you are. bought the new album too. Used to go to to Dans Fender guitar weekends in Clarens back in the day. He recognised me. I was humbled.
  16. Not a big ride this morning. But, I noticed the bluebells have flowered. That’s a big deal.
  17. The irony of using a Jewish example in this case gave me a big smile. Especially in todays world.
  18. I would guess quite a lot of people feel exactly the same way.
