  1. some of the specs below https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/165395-lets-see-those-silverbacks/page-6?do=findComment&comment=3321335
  2. Registration on the day starts @ 6:30 Will be giving the 60km a go... ???? Plenty of waterpoints on the route, should be fun
  3. Some minor changes done: Maxxis skinwalls fitted ENVE swp v2 bar Token MTX zero offset post Chris King ISO rear hub in black with xd driver to accommodate the E-thirteen cassette Black ODI grips
  4. a bit of Welvanpas white route last weekend.
  5. forkit that is nice!
  6. Hi Hairy Go check the "black bikes only ", "silverback" or "post your bike journey" thread, you'll find some pics there
  7. @BSG I enjoy the fork, always smooth because the seals/stanchions are always lubed. Won't say there is a major difference to a normal fork, but it looks killer. I can see that for XC racing it might be a bit tricky as when changing the wheel the stanchions can move and rotate making it a bit more time consuming getting the thru-axle through and tightened. but other than that is super plush and smooth
  8. Was time to upgrade to a 46t cassette, went with a sunrace and KMC X11 SL DLC 11-speed black chain Also added a Enve stem #becausecarbonfiber
  9. Not today but last week. Did the "seven passes" and the "green Mamba" climbs in Wellington that will be part of the 2018 Cape epic. seven passes top of green mamba
  10. Blacked out with a new chain and cassette
  11. Will also be in the area on the 20th also keen to try out the trailpark!
  12. Also happy with the service from EVO bikes I bought some goodies from them and even after checking it stated sold out I still received the parcel the following week. I placed the order on a Friday and the Tuesday is was at the Post office(normal domestic) They even helped me to stay out of harms way... Might have been in trouble if the post office notification rocked up at home and the wife ask "what is it this time?"
  13. Price? send me a DM if you don't mind, keen to get one
  14. Also used SRAM butter and Finish line shock oil when doing my 50hrs service. You use very little so should last a few services. Do you have the RS1 specific anchor tool to remove the LHS shaft assembly? Difficult to access behind the seal if the assembly isn't removed
  15. Not sure who's into the whole "weight weenie" thing but this is a cool build I'm following on Instagram. Brand new frames that the paint was scraped off with a knife(video on insta), sands it down and new decals. This guy is claiming under 8kg's on a dual and sub 6,5kg on the hardtail.... will be interesting once completed. give him a follow - @dangerholm
  16. a Gentleman on Instagram by the name of @hoppcarbonparts manufactures some carbon goodies for your XTR or whatever parts.... You can even have the full derailleur made from carbon.... full carbon xtr derailleur and also some SRAM goodness
  17. Thanks Pyka The Sesto is by far my favorite bike I've owned. Like a hardtail on the climbs and a plush machine on the DH's
  18. Also started off with the typical hypermarket 20" bmx, nothing special Then moved onto a hypermarket 10 speed Raleigh - black and red Diamond back sorrento, cro-mo frame 21 speed, don't have a pic of the actual bike unless I visit my parents and dig up die archives 4th: that's when the bug bit me, Diamond back WCF 2.1, this bike was a boys dream, also the time my parents discovered that my #carbonfiberaddiction started. It had numerous upgrades and also raced a few WP nationals on it. (many moons ago!) (not my actual bike) me 2nd from the RHS at a natioanla in Tokai After school it was tech days and the bmx / dirt jumping period kicked in. Started off with my brothers Trek Vert 4 Then a Trek TR30 and after that a Vert 2 but was passed the small bike and knees next to the ears stage That's when Nox1111 convinced me to buy a 26" dirt jumper. If remembered correctly I bouth my 1st Planet X bomber frame from Bos and had it build. also received a custom paint job and decals designed by the man himself Nox111 Next was a GT Ruckes I bought from Nox1111 First dual was a santa cruz blur LT(26") that was custom build 1st 29er was a trek superfly100 that also had a custom build some years later stock after upgrades And then finally my current Silverback sesta pro - and yes, its custom build As for road bikes. Had a Look KG121 - Carbon frame, shimano 105 8speed groupset and some Velocity deep-section rims. Bike is at my parents place and used by my dad on the home trainer.... Current road bike, Litespeed Natchez, Campagnolo groupset and Mavic Ksyrium wheels (also used on the home trainer) Will load pics of both when I'm back in SA
  19. Yes I do agree with you on the wear rate of the Barzo. Thus opting for the harder compound of the Saguaro on the rear. I have done more miles on the Suguaro than on the Barzo and at this stage and the thread looks fine, think you can get 3x the miles on the Suguaro than the Barzo. (or my skills have improved and not using the brakes so often) Also the grey sidewall looks much cooler
  20. I ran Barzo's front and rear. Awesome grip but changed to the Saguaro for the rear for a little bit more traction. Very happy running this setup, never punctured or any sidewall cuts. The Barzo is a softer compound compared to the Saguaro. Never lost the front wheel in any corner and gives me some extra confidence. you can get them from CWC for R500 I think, and they ship
  21. I bought mine from SRAMnation online. Delivery was in a week all the way from the states. Cape cycle systems will set you back about R800... I paid 26USD postage included, that was less that half locally. Quality is superb!!!! I went with the stealth decals on my RS-1, on the images it looks black and grey, but its actually a gloss black and matt black. Check them out https://sramnation.com/collections/rockshox#sm.00009wabv483eflqvop28xvrdnjws
  22. @ddsmuts Bikes, cars and food lol
  23. Welvanpas - Wellington always deliver Clear skies and awesome singletrack for days!!!!!!
  24. Good point! Why not just get the thing you want in the first place even if its a little bit more expensive.... RS-1 stickers from Cape cycle systems works out about R800 and you have no options to choose from as they only have white and red in stock... these were half the price and the quality is superb.
  25. Ordered this stealth decal set from Sramnation on the 7th, took them a week to arrive in Cpt 18usd for stickers and 8usd postage and 2 delivery attempts later (my fault) they arrived. Amped to get them on the fork and get rid of the green!
