  3. Yes, same shop bike was bought from
  4. Bike shop needs to claim from insuranse so option one is to replace all the bike parts except frame, second option will be to replace the complete bike. problem is bike is now at bike shop and according to some insurance company experts this is a looong process.
  5. Jip, sad thing is that namgear was the go-to product, shop owner handed the alternative product without any instructions except the verbal instructions
  6. hi Tinmug, nope, decanted into blank container.
  7. hi Guys, thanks for the feedback. I have edited the post. (customer ask bike shop application procedure and bike shop owner instructed customer to use as he did with namgear, the reason for asking was because it's decanted into a smaller container with no instructions or label) hope this helps by clarifying the situation.
  8. Good day fellow hubbers posting on behalf of a friend. customer buys new bike (carbon dual suspension with deore xt parts) Takes bike on maiden voyage and decides to buy a fresh bottle of Namgear to wash new bike. (customer been using namgear for 3 plus years) Bike shop owner confirms he is out of stock and gives customer another type of bike-wash to use until namgear becomes available again. (customer ask bike shop application procedure and bike shop owner instructed customer to use as he did with namgear, the reason for asking was because it's decanted into a smaller container with no instructions or label) Takes bike for second ride and after ride starts washing bike with new bike-wash. rinse and dry bike and only to discover that new bike is now full of white stains on each and every component (cranks, rims, hubs, h/bar, dropper post, front & rear shock including shock stanchions , etc etc... ) After research and confirmation from supplier the bike-wash given to the customer is actually a heavy-duty engine degreaser containing caustic.... We all know what caustic does to anodized parts... Long story short, do the customer now hold the bikeshop responsible for the damage caused by the bike wash supplied?
  9. That section is very steep with sharp turns! think there will be a few crashes as fatigue sets in as its just over half way. The climb to the top is rad 😎

  16. I've done one ride since covid and took 11days off before taking the mtb for a spin. Kept hr as low a s possible, max was 132b and avg 102bpm over 35k's, must admit is very boring and not even a drop of sweat. I believe this virus can attack again after a few days/weeks so from riding daily i only ride once a week till i feel more comfortable. Hearing to much *** news about people who trained and passed from a heart attack. Rather chill now so that i can still enjoy it till an older age Not sure where we contracted this thing, between me and the wife we both had it although she wanted to get teated. Must've been while doing grocery shopping before new years...
  17. Nothing for now, but maybe an enduro rig in the future...No idea on the grips, stole them from the wife's bike
  18. Bike was sold last week to a very happy chap in Jhb.Couldn't get the front tyre's writing to match the rear so decided to toss them before the sale and slap on some reckon race rubber with tanwalls. Below last pic before she was boxed and send to her new owner. Will sure miss the sound of that chris king hub when coasting
  19. I also had no power for the last few weeks of riding. Doing rides every day turned to doing a ride every 2nd or 3rd day... almost like a loss in appetite. Went for a ride on Monday this week and heart rate when up way higher than normal with almost no effort. Just some gravel roads with a bit of headwind but something did not seem so lekker. Wife tested positive the next day(Tuesday) and since we are both in isolation i will also give up a few days of cycling. Rather safe than sorry for the long run.
  20. Quick dash to end the year
