  1. Yip, I saw them at the Woodbridge Mile overpass, cycling though this morning. Also look like the cables to the lights are being replaced on some sections. Definitely something's up. Will be watching it keenly…
  2. The app is called Cycling SA Events. But: I note that you are indeed all correct, that it is not in the app store anymore. Mine however is still working 🤪
  3. Just stunning!
  4. Signal Hill (again) before work with the mandatory coffee stop... Looks like summer, feels like summer, but be aware of the weekend...
  5. Signal Hill and Coffee (Frank's, Bree Str)
  6. I rather like this. When I start to consolidate my fleet (which is soon), I think I should also go this route with all my electronic gear bikes. My garage always looks like some major charging station, it is time to simplify...
  7. Me thinks many a cyclist is suddenly sniffing their chamois creams... It could open up a whole new world and business opportunities, let alone new marketing strategies. #whathaveyoustarted
  8. Was on the cycle path again this morning, and I kid you not. It was swarming with traffic department cars and officers. Must have counted 6 cars going into town and 7 or more coming out. Most if not, all parked at the Woodstock MyCiti bus station. I did not really feel safer though as they were all chatting away, checking their cell phones, or just sitting in the car. Everyone greeted me friendly, as they always do 🙂 Keep in mind that this was around peak time for traffic (plus minus), and all these resources were on the bus lane, just sitting, waiting, checking... And, if you were wondering, the settlement is larger, and most definitely more fencing has disappeared. The water is still flowing (mind blowing), and the dumping has escalated tenfold.
  9. Also have the ergonomic grips on my hard tail and dual suspension bikes. And they work very well and are very comfy. On one of my N+1 bikes I have grip shift, thus forced to go with the tube-like grips. Any idea if these ergo grips are available for grip shift?
  10. There is, unseen to the eyes from the N1, an entire informal settlement mushrooming here. If you ever dare to ride on the bus lane into town you would not believe the size of this informal settlement. And it is visibly growing by the week (waiting for the 1st coffee shop to open 🤪). Everything has been torn down on the bus lane or bike path side. There are no lights, no secure fence, no CCTV, the trees are dying, because of fires, mostly to get copper from the wires and off course for food, water etc. (one can smell it the burning wires). The water is leaking out all over the place as the fittings are broken off. In some places they now are starting to take the pavers out, can you believe. And it has also become a general dumping ground. All the above is happening in front of the police and traffic department that is on the bus lane at all hours. I know there are reasons and obstacles but because of this settlement growing at the speed it is, it will soon be big enough to create much more havoc on the N1. Cutting back one or two trees (they will soon be cut for firewood anyway) will not fix your problem. The mayor and the PM have got bigger problems (even if they cared, which I am convinced they do not), and this decaying asset that the city has spend millions on will soon be nothing. Sad but true story… It is really unbelievable...
  11. My gravel conversion, 29er HT frame with carbon fork, 1x12 speed (grip shift), 38 oval chainring, carbon handle bar with short stem and chrome Cura 4 brakes. Still work in progress, but just under 10kg as is... Rides sommer baie lekker 😀
  12. Coffee, waiting for rhe rain to pass, then Tablemountain, Kings Blockhouse... #saturdayvibes
  13. Whatever you get, get two, as I am sure I would also want it... 🤣
  14. I really like how all these top brands always boast the "faster than ever before" bikes. At this rate, with every year the bike being "faster than ever before" one should really start to compete with the "E" versions, but I guess they also keep on improving and being "faster than ever before". Think I should get one of them, just to improve all my BP's on Strava, as I will be "faster than ever before". I always thought the reason I do not get many BP's anymore is because me legs are not what they used to be, seems that my bikes are just "slower than ever before", and my legs are still awesome. 🤣 #really
  15. Up Kloof, then it took a while to find an open coffee shop in Cape Town this morning. Had to go back all the way to Paarden Island to get my kick...
  16. I did, no issues - in fact the roads were pretty quiet. Went via the bike path from Blouberg. Not many open coffee shops though #cryalittle. Loads of law enforcement in the CBD.
  17. My natural habitat 😁 when not on the trails or on the mountain. 😎
  18. Saturday and Sunday, our traiks...
  19. Vida Mocha Friday 😎👋
  20. Signal Hill, Cape Town 🇿🇦
  21. Never the frame - that is the soul of the bike, and steel is real, right?
  22. Yip, use to do that as well, but like the cleaner looking at it from the saddle. Cannot see the battery - haha - also check the light is upside down i.e. under the handlebar. With the remote switch it works well, and my handlebar looks clean... Weird, I know...
  23. LOL - Photo optics, it is not touching, there is about 2 to 3 cm play...
  24. 🤣 Well noticed Brett, it is indeed not the same bike anymore... Just cannot help myself... 🙃 You should talk to Spokie about this, she has much to say 🤪 One or two more "upgrades" in the pipeline. Eish 🤐
  25. Coffee shop before work. A dry ride for a change...
