Please let's not call them machines - they are motorbikes, and should be discussed in motorized programs. A machine (in bicycle terms) is a super looking well designed humanly propelled means of transportation which excludes mechanical doping in all forms.

Also believe today's stage was done purely on an optional basis due to the risky conditions on the trails. Any riders not doing today's event can still ride tomorrow and finish formally.

Well clearly the men should then not enter this event. Why take their money, but give them nothing in return? Just make it a ladies tour, the mid week one a mix tour, and then last one a men's tour. Boom, problem solved...

Nothing yet, I see on their website that the 60km route profile and details are still to be provided/uploaded.

So how wet will these trails be after the rain this week?

As long as they know that they are Mechanical Dopers, seen as Mechanical Dopers and willing to accept the fact they they are doping for whatever their reason may be, then I guess it is fine that they are around on the mountain, riding, doping and having some fun. Just do not talk to me... But as known dopers they should not be allowed at races, taking part in races or have an organised event on the same day as none-dopers. They certainly are welcome to have their own doping event on another day. I think that will be fine, probably a great spectacle to watch... I have an issue (I know it is weird in some way) with event organizers jumping on this band-wagon and supporting Mechanical Doping, and must say I have not entered events because of this... #justsaying

Different sport, different technology and actually, some, but not the same skill required. Somewhere between Motocross and Mountain Biking. Next thing will be e-RoadBikes blitzing the CTCC creating chaos... Ban them from the trails, ban them from the races and make sure they do not get on the road, and stay of the bike path. Put on a proper helmet and face the traffic like all the scooters do... Go and ride your electronic bike where you are not bothering cyclists.

It they do this, it will be just stupid - I am sure that most event organizers will be able to see the risk in doing this, but then, this is Africa, and everything goes. As it is we have all seen some stupid things at events, making one wonder what cycling experience (or just common sense) some of these organizers actually have... I am all for change, but mixing e-bikes with normal bikes... Eish

Did the ride to work via my favorite coffee shop. Customers looked at me like I was from another planet - LOL. Ride in was with most of the wind from behind, this afternoon will be interesting. Will need these legs baby!

This really and truly annoys me... Man, that wheel sucker who slips in behind you without a word, without a hi, without an apology, not a good morning, not a word, nada, just sits there thinking he has got the right to that spot with his bright light sitting on you, makes me feel like a animal being hunted in the dark... How nice would have been to rather see this topic:- "PPA demands swift and decisive action from City of Cape Town after horrific attacks on cyclists on bike path in the area of the Woodstock bridge!" Now we just get warned off.

Fix and continue to maintain the fence, secure the fence in and around the Woodstock bridge (this by itself is a mess), remove the campers from the area, remove/clear all big bushes/shrubs etc. In other words, look after your billion rand investment and do not let it go down the drain because of a lack of effort. How difficult can this be?

Poor show from the city, PPA and everyone involved in this development, the maintenance there-off and safety of citizens using the facility. Let your head hang in shame. This city works for who...?

Anyone have an idea what is happening at SARS. Apparently there is a stop payment on all eFiling payments. My wife has been called to SARS now for 4 times just to submit the same documents. Today she was told to come back again for a 5th time, now they want her original IRP5, not the one loaded onto eFiling. On every visit they have taken all her documents, said it was all good, they have been scanned in, supervisor pops over and signs it off, just to be called back two weeks later for something else. And this they refuse to explain to you on the phone - the message is always, you have to come in and bring the same documents... According to the SARS staff a block was placed on making any more pay outs by the computer (Wtf?). My wife's income and tax is a straight forward simple one with no complexities. This used to be a department that ran without any hiccups. What happened?
