  1. Hi All Quick question regarding Dura Ace R9100 cranks. I bought a set from here a little while ago and noticed the left crank arm pinch bolts didn't have washers. Do these cranks need washers (I'd assume yes as every other set I've ever used had washers - granted this is my first DA set of cranks) My next question is where can I find washers? The bolt ports are narrower than other cranks so I can't just switch the washers out. The other cranks I have seem to use M6X10X0.8mm washers and these DA cranks would need M6X9X0.8mm which is proving difficult to find.
  2. Thanks but I also managed to find that. The set starts at 10mm and goes up to 22mm. I need an 8mm wrench…
  3. HI all Does anyone know where to get specialty tools? I'm scoring the online sites in SA for an 8mm Crow Foot wrench for a 1/4" drive torque wrench and cannot seem to find one... I need to torque down the attachment bolt on some hydraulic brake lines. Need to quite carful with the correct torque at the shifter housing is composite... Any help would be amazing!
  4. Unfortunately both of those options were a bust. (Decathlon don't offer that shim online and its only in store in Centurion...) Back to the drawing board...
  5. Hello Hubbers Might be a bit of a Hail Mary, but does anyone know where I can get a shim for a 1" steerer tube so I can use a 1 1/8" stem? Can't seem to find one anywhere. I saw Thomson make a highly regarded one, but the local agents don't bring it in... Any help would be AMAZING!
  6. I had a set of Mavic Ksyrium Elites that I loved. Swore I would never ride any other brand. Then I had to replace them and couldn't find a shop with Ksyrium's in stock at the time, so got a set of Fulcrum Racing 3's These are my absolute favourites (I like them better than I liked the Ksyrium's) Fulcrum all the way!
  7. Not super vintage but she sure rides like a dream! Very happy with how she turned out! See you at the next retro ride!
  8. Anyone got a couple of spare 26.2mm seat posts by any chance? I need 2 that are 300mm or so long. Not fussy about brand etc, as long as they keep my saddle attached to my frame at the correct height Please PM me if you can help...
  9. Compressport On/Off Best purchase so far this winter. Keeps you warm and has great moisture management.
  10. So these are the brake I have - minus the hoods obviously. Not a picture of the one I have, but they are exactly the same.
  11. Awesome! Thanks HY I'll post a pic of the levers later. The hoods looked very much like the ones in that link (as far as I could tell anyway - they were so badly perished)
  12. Does anyone know if there are any shops in SA that have replacement non aero brake hoods? (like these: https://www.amazon.com/Dia-Compe-Dia-Compe-Non-Aero/dp/B003UWCTIG) Also, where would one start looking for vintage cycling shoes? (in a 44 ) Got two builds staring soon. Pics to follow soon.
  13. Is the rust on the tubing not going to cause problems down the line?
  14. Picked up this beauty yesterday Its exactly the bike I was looking for! A Le Turbo Grand Prix like my dad used to have. Big thanks to Racer!!!! Can't wait to start restoring her
  15. Its an Alpina apparently... Haven't seen it in person...
