  1. Personally as a seller. If I sell something, once it leaves my hands, It’s no longer mine. the buyer pays the courier and it’s his responsibility there after… so i do wonder what BHP terms are on incidents like that. I don’t think the buyer should be responsible for the bike during courier. (Unless he boxed it badly) but theft or serious damage should not be the sellers responsibility?
  2. Do you know what happened to the seller? , did he receive any money back from BH? , or perhaps did the courier have insurance.
  3. I have used bike hub pay as seller and buyer and for sure i recommend it . But i still dont understand why the seller must pay for the fees. and whenever you edit your add, it automatically ticks the BHP option. As a seller, i list the bike at the price i want, and its up to the buyer to pay for the ''protection''. As a buyer, i have requested a seller to please allow me to buy off BHP and i was willing to pay for the service fee.
  4. I recently used courier guy. Was just shy of r600. Additionally had to get a Cardboard bike box which I had to pay another r100. (Which was deff a backhander and went straight into the salesman’s pocket and not to the bike store)! Then paid another r100 to get bubblerap and tape to pack it secure..
  5. Hi man. I can’t figure out how to send you a private message, but please can you get back to me with a price of a rocker plate and front wheel mount . Regards
  6. I’ve been traveling all around Gauteng for work (with no issues permit yet) , from far north of Pretoria down to the Vaal side south of JhB and haven’t had any troubles, I’ve been on both main and back roads. I went into a local police station and the man advised me that I do not need any permit traveling within gauteng, I am aware of road blocks on the borders on the provinces (Seem as they on the boarder not at the nearest tolls plaza). I do carry a proof of residence and work letter head Incase sht hits the fan. But so far been all good.
  7. https://bikehub.co.za/classifieds/item/hardtail-mountain-bikes/406304/cannondale-lefty This will be ideal for lady riders imo, has a female seat even!
  8. I have seen this invsi spray, seems to spray a clear gel coat over a surface and can peel it off eventually without marking the bike. Could be worth looking into
  9. For some reason I’ve been getting logged out of the hub and I have to login almost every time I use it like every 2/3 days. Also I tried to upload an ad and when adding pictures it takes ages for them to upload that I eventually just gave up. Could have been my wifi perhaps but all my other apps workings just fine . Any advice?
  10. Thanks for that man. But thinking of dropping down to the 50/60km . And next year kick it up to the big one!
  11. Thanks man I will deff work on that and take note. Can you recommend anything on a budget? I’m terms on nutrition, As I’m not to keen to fork out for gels and bars every time I ride.
  12. Thanks for all the advice guys! All been noted.
  13. Not being a dick no worries I need the honesty. I see there is also an option of a 60km, do you know what this route is like?
  14. Just a question regarding the 94.7 . I’m new to the whole road scene. I did the Tshwane classic 50km (the day after the WRC so you can imagine.. ) on a mountain bike with 2’25 tyres with little to no training ,felt like a drag near the end, had tummy cramps (ate those dam potatoes and micro greens maybe?) and I think my bike wasn’t set up well so probably wasn’t the best , did it in 02:05. So my question is , would it not be wise to buy a late entry for the 94.7 ? . Would be the longest distance I would have done, I will get myself a road bike and set it up properly , sneak in a few training rides and find out what gave me those cramps . But as a newbie to the route/ride perhaps fellow hubbers can tell me how tough it can be? And what I should expect and how to do some last minute training.
  15. Great route and well organized but a little disappointed at the finish line as there wasn’t much happening , no music or hand outs?. Although I was confused as to where exactly the finish was?? (After the timing mats a couple hundred meters and then 4-5 gazebos with drinks?, or was there more further up? Also a lot of road kill on the roads! Otherwise well enjoyed
