Okay so I just chatted to the bike shop okes. Throttle body so dirty that it could almost not let the fuel pass. And both coils were shot, with damaged wires and connections, brittle rubber and so on. All fixed, but I will only hear what the damage to my bank account is when I go and collect it

It is a sad day for me...... I had to take my GS to the doctor. For the last couple of weeks the bike will randomly just cut out at idling. Being the brainiac that I am, I changed the plugs and airfilter. went well for a week or two. Started googling, so many people complaining about the same thing but no solutions. So ill drive to work and back and tinker in the evenings. Nothing. still does it. and the longer I ride the worse it is getting. So lets hope the bikeshop has some idee of what to do.

Carbs usually more thirsty than fuel injection. And syncing carbs is a bitch. I dont know about the others, but I wont do it. Why was it a project in the first place?

What bike is it? and how much electronics does it have?

Hairy for that type of riding, the harley might work good. If you throw on nice leather saddle bags it will be a nice ride. you will just have to check all your nuts and bolts once a month.

I dont know what their top end is like, but what is listed as cruising speed? If I remember correctly is is something like 90 or 100km/h. Not saying it cant do 160, just that the machine is comfortable at lower speeds. ^^^^ this is a beautiful bike! Will you be commuting at all?

They might try and sell you a zonty or sym, but they also have a Triumph street tripple, ER6N a few BMWs harleys, a cbr and a couple of others on their floor at this stage. They also get the occasional duke 390 in, but they usually sells on the same day that they get them in
