I went with a ballie who bought one. His previous bike was a very very very old 3x6 ralleigh, and you weren't able to lock out the front suspension and lets not mention wheelsize. He is over the moon and is requesting regular tag alongs where he barely rode his previous bike. Like everyone is saying, more people on the road, more awareness.

As long as they don't change the bike it does not need to go for emission test again. Apparently the thumpers are not so environmentally friendly... or so says the youtube vid I watched. And while it still sells, the design and R&D are paid already, so it is pure profit.

My dakkie also gave me trouble after riding about 5 km. Also loss of power and cutting out as soon as you pull the clutch. In the end it was the coils, and coil wiring and isolation. dont know if you have a throttle body, (new word that i learned) but mine was also very dirty, and apparently that also creates the same symptoms.

So of a 600 can do that, what do you want to do with a 1000?

Grebel i am with you on getting frustrated. This morning I saw that the "hood" that covers the electronic connections of the headlight is destroyed. It feels like things are just breaking now. Worst of all is that it is not somewhere where one scratch for something. No idea how and when it went.

Okay so I just chatted to the bike shop okes. Throttle body so dirty that it could almost not let the fuel pass. And both coils were shot, with damaged wires and connections, brittle rubber and so on. All fixed, but I will only hear what the damage to my bank account is when I go and collect it

It is a sad day for me...... I had to take my GS to the doctor. For the last couple of weeks the bike will randomly just cut out at idling. Being the brainiac that I am, I changed the plugs and airfilter. went well for a week or two. Started googling, so many people complaining about the same thing but no solutions. So ill drive to work and back and tinker in the evenings. Nothing. still does it. and the longer I ride the worse it is getting. So lets hope the bikeshop has some idee of what to do.

Carbs usually more thirsty than fuel injection. And syncing carbs is a bitch. I dont know about the others, but I wont do it. Why was it a project in the first place?

What bike is it? and how much electronics does it have?
