Shimano's research said this would reduce the peak angular velocity of the knee joint, which in turn would help reduce knee problems and make maintaining a higher cadence more comfortable. Many riders found the pedaling feel unnatural. Since the system attempted to solve a problem few riders had, it was unpopular and relatively quickly abandoned.

the biggest benefit [and I used one for years on my MTB] is that they give more linear power delivery on very steep loose climbs and definitely improve grip...

Squirt was the worst sealant I ever tried..and I have been through many...followed in 2nd place by Peatys

when opting for the 80km you miss out a serious climb which only the 130km tackles… nothing tame about the 130… one section hits 26% and is fairly loose😉
