  1. The trails are closed to cyclists on Mondays.
  2. The distance was the same. Same course. Same conditions. Same everything. I don't understand your statement?
  3. Fritz had a lot to say and at the end of that was still not prepared to budge. I'm glad somebody at Advendurance/ Ashburton investments realized that impact and aimed to resolve it. That kind of publicity does nothing for you as a person, your brand, your company, your events or your sponsors. Wakey Wakey Fritz.... The world turns with or without you... get on the train or go home with your tail between your legs. Someone just saved you from a s#@$ storm...
  4. Tried and trusted.. great job Ridgeway.
  5. Gels offer the quickest form of absorption of the carbs needed. Solid food requires your body to supply the stomach and organs with energy to break down that food, thereby defeating the purpose. Look at changing the brand of gels you use. There are some great ones which go down very easily and don't mess with you.
  6. The term technical means so many things.... Some riders talk about riding surface: loose rocky climbs, loose rocky decents. mud. sand. gradient etc. Some riders talk about technical features such as bridges, rock gardens, obstacles etc. Some races are considered more technical then others based on one or a combination of the above. I'm keen to hear what riders consider technical, and how you would classify a technical race. and...... GO!
  7. SAS have gone from bad to worse. Their results information only reflects about 2-3 weeks after an event and a seeding is only allocated about another 2 weeks after that. They do not do ANY pre-batching anymore. Shocking service if you ask me. @surprize - I also entered event 2 when it stated Legends and have received no indication that the venue has changed. SAS seem to be overworked and under prepared for the work involved in now running a seeding system and doing entries. I also believe Advendurance is at fault for not providing entrants with correct information and not telling entrants as soon as the change was made that the venue had changed. And to think we rely on this to be better mountain bikers...
  8. Modderfontien reserve summer 2015... storm approaching
  9. I don't fully understand the concept of this event. You are trying to capture female mtb riders. Its not a race, and not timed. It boasts amazing venue and perks etc. So you are looking for female riders who are beginners and/or casual riders, or just ladies who want a weekend away and may have to ride a bike? I believe that is about 10% of the already small female mtb'ers currently riding. So why not just call it a riding holiday? It seems like you are promoting the venue, perks, spa etc a lot more than the riding so you should probably look at calling it a weekend away with some optional bike riding and try market to a different audience. And when you find that your event is not popular (or maybe it will be something the wives will want) you will see that just because the ladies ride bikes, doesn't mean they are not competitive or don't want to race amongst themselves as well as have a comfortable time doing it... hopefully an event company will see this and give the MTB ladies something real to consider spending a few thousand rand on...
  10. Some morning Luv on the trails... great grips!
