  1. I broke my collarbone 7 weeks ago, was on the IDT for 5 weeks, rode Saturday (3hrs) and Sunday (2hrs) on the road for the first time, very happy to be back, will pick it up for the next 5 weeks.
  2. That sounds pretty decent...just pace yourself, it's flipping far!!!!
  3. How many km or hours per week are you guys up to at the moment.
  4. Going to use the Mounty instead of the road bike to ride on the road, I think it's going to be a bit more comfortable and ya will stay off the trails for quite some time, will keep in mind the steep rising stem that seems to be a good plan.
  5. Went for my six week check-up today (broken collarbone), bone has knitted nice, just need to go for a few physio sessions. Will start riding on the road the weekend, start slowly and feel it out then build up some distance, still going strong on the IDT. 36one is still on the cards.
  6. Went for my six week check-up today, bone has knitted nice ( no surgery), just need to go for a few physio sessions. Will start riding on the road the weekend (start slowly and feel it out).
  7. Got my hand as far as the keyboard (desktop) with no pain, but that's it, take the sling off for a hour or two but absolutely no sudden movements must be made (sloth mode). I think my age is against me at 54....it going to take a bit longer.
  8. Broke my clavicle (and a rib) 5 weeks ago, still not back on the bike or driving, but have been on the IDT for 3 weeks, going for my follow visit to Doc next week, no surgery needed as it was a clean straight break and nothing moved. Was told will be off the bike for 6 weeks (not by Doctor but buddies), but in my case it feels like it going to be about 7-8 weeks. And to make matters worse I have the 36one coming up in May.
  9. Thanks bud, ya keeping those sessions going, I'll be there on the start line 17 May.
  10. Broke my collarbone in a mtb race 3 weeks ago "faaaak", on the spinning bike just keep the legs going, but can't put the big km in just yet, Frustrated big time.

  15. Nice race report Fanievb, my knees sommer feel sore!!
  16. It's confirmed... #The36ONE will move back to May in 2019 to ensure cooler day time temperatures. The route will also see a slight tweak to avoid Dysseldorp. 100 exclusive early bird entries will be available from Thursday the 26th of April for past participants so if you want to secure your spot and a bumper Biogen hamper keep your finger on the trigger on Thursday afternoon. Well a extra month to train after the festive season, so maybe it's a good thing. Will enter and make my arrangement next year.
  17. What a crap time to have it, going to be super cold at night.
  18. Dude to do 2 big rides a week apart is not a good idea...just saying. You going to take quite some time to recover from this ride.
  19. It's Friday night, just got paid. Last year one of the local dogs (sure it was drinking also) tried to chow my leg off after leaving CP2, I used some language it understood to scare it off.
  20. Das was a monumental F*****up. Sorry to hear that, sure he'll come back strong next year.
  21. Did Jean Biermans ride? Don't see a result for him.
  22. "that last 80km was torture" Yip...it's a race on it's own that section.
  23. I feel for you...that sucks!!!!
  24. You guys are the true champions of the 36one.
  25. Where is the war stories from the rest of the people on this forum who took part...or are they still riding.
