  1. I did some "detective" work and apparently the guy at Beeld is still waiting for some answers from Chunky who doesn't answer his phone! Not that I'm implying he's involved in any wrongdoing.
  2. Just had a look at www.cyclingsa.com at the stage results of the 3rd stage of the Tour of Britain. Interesting to see Coxy and Robbie finishing on their own obviously chasing whoever were in front of them. They came in more than 7 minutes ahead of the next guy, Jacob Piil and their effort took them them to the top-30 with the same time. What I'd like know is what was said between the two Souf Efricans while they were chasing? That could've been a very interesting conversation!
  3. On the same topic. I almost got bliksemed once seeing this guys park in one of those wheelchair bays at a shopping centre. He hopped out and and on his way to the entrance I merely mentioned to my buddies I didn't see a wheelchair or the sticker obviously loud enough for him to hear. He turned around agressively and was about to say something, but lucky for him he could count. It was a beaut watching him turn around and go back to his car. I still don't know whether he came back to continue his shopping!
  4. Very possible and for his sake I hope he does. But I'll be very nervous if I was him without a hint of a possible contract at this stage of the season.
  5. Go to www.cyclingsa.com. Anke placed second in that race!
  6. MWnm, I hope this guy got out of it alive. Looking at the photo? It look's horrendous. Even the rear left wheel look as if it's "bending" towards its head. No match. Car & cyclist. Someone will come short. Usually the cyclist. Ouch, and my condolences to the family involved in this one.
  7. Guys, I'm sorry to hear about all the mishaps. That's very unfortunate and it should not happen. One cyclist to get by a vehicle is one cyclist to many. I would like to know when will all the different codes in cycling get together and plan the race program accordingly. Doing the Lost City ride on a Saturday? To me that's crazy. Especially if you had an All Black team staying there for the whole week before they thumped the Boks again. All of us are so vain its unbelievable. And thats got nothing to do with only cyclists. Of course there were many "bikies" going to Sol's place for the ride. But how many "Pretorianers and Jo'burgers" etc. went there to try and catch a glimpse of Richie McCaw, Daniel Carter etc. just to say "I was there?" We, Souff Efricans, love sport to much to give up an oppertunity like that. And then we'll be at at the park the next day. No mistake. Just to proclaim we were with the All Blacks the whole weekend! Even it was in different parts of the Sun City complex. Meantime, there's a race taking place on the morning of the TEST. 5 000 competitors. As I max my credit, being late for the test I've already paid, I'm in a hurry. And know, what the f@@@@ck are these cyclist doing in front of me. I'm going to be late for the kick-off! If the Lost City race took place on Sunday morning? I reserve the right to ask questions like this. Planning (logistics) is everything.
  8. I must agree with p70. This problem has got nothing to do with cyclists. It's who you are and what you do. I've been around and I've seen many things. Cyclists are not always at fault. Though some of them (and I must admit I think the majority) don't think what they do. Three things in my life will always be with me. 1) I was totally amazed by some Alan van Heerden during his heyday when I was in the fortunate position during a tour to follow a bunch where he was the "stoker". The Idol dropped back, took his hanky out of his jerseys back pouch (x3!), blew his nose and put it back. He worked his way back to the front and eventually won the stage. That impressed me immensely. That being in the middle of a bunch that was blewing "snot" all over you! 2) I once joined a group of people in Namibia (in the Rundu region to be exact) when one of the heli pilots put his "stompie" out in the loose sand. The then miss Namibia, Carolyn du Preez, didn't say anything. She bent down picked it up and held it in her hand for the duration of our "flip" over the Angolan border. And only then did she "flip" it into a dustbin. 3) Being in the fortunate position of spending time on the Blue Train, the morning coming into the Western Cape was awesome. For two reasons. To watch the sun shaking the sheckels of winter to burn red on the morning horison and the litter that was lying on both sides of the track. That was horrendous. Even the Germans involved in this trip were amazed by the amount of rubble lying around. But in conclusion, the part that impressed me the most was that guy outside of Wellington standing there and "harpooning" the empty plastic cannisters and putting it into his bag. A losing battle. Cyclists can set an example, but so can the rest of the country. Bikies are not the only one's to blame.
  9. Unless I'm wrong, I'd like to know when Robbie Hunter is going to do something in the Tour of Britain. There's only four stages left! Or is it a case he doesn't have to do anything because he's got something lined up already? For his sake, I hope so. I think Robbie had one of his best years ever in Europe, but if there's nothing in the pipeline after Phonak's decision, I'd be worried. At least David George is moving up the ladder since his bad luck during the initial stages of the Vuelta and he should be OK for another season or two.
  10. Just to add something about this whole issue Slapwiel brought up. To me it's like music in my ears. But I think we've got to get something in the clear. Slapwiel did drag the CSA or SACF in again which I think is unfair. If the individual concerned is a licenced rider, there is no way that CSA will be able to keep this under cover. In the case of an unlicenced rider, CSA has no jurisdiction over him/her and I think in this case we're talking about an unlicenced individual. So to drag CSA into everything is a bit unfair especially if all the facts are not on the table yet. Seems to me in any case this whole thing can turn criminal and then no one will have anything to say until things have been sorted in court.
  11. I doubt it. Let's hold thumbs for the "road rage" incident.
  12. Youngster guilty of using banned substance Kim Caleigh-Brewis a junior lady rider form KwaZulu-Natal tested positive on July 8, 2006, during Eric van Enter in the Vaal Triangle for the use of Carticosteroids, Prednisalone and Predisone. A decision by the tribunal has already been made and she was found guilty as charged.Caleigh-Brewis established that the use of the substance was not intended to enhance her performance. According to her a dermatologist prescribed the medicine. She was sentenced in accordance to Art. 262, warned and heavily reprimanded.Sylvia Dale, acting CEO of Cycling South Africa (CSA) said the tribunal recieved correspondence from the dermatologist. ?Kim also admitted she knew that what she took had traces of banned substances, but she thought everything would be worked out by the time the Eric van Enter was held,? Dale said.No other action was taken. And... Another case of road rage in the Western Cape Travys Wilkins, first year professional with the Western Cape based CSC/CVT outfit, on Wednesday became another victim of road rage when he was attacked by a motorist. Wikins and four his team mates was busy training when the incident happened.A case of assault was registered with the police and the 20-year old Wilkins earlier on Thursday went to a doctor with the relevant forms to be completed pertaining his injuries.Wilkins earlier said he was taken by surprise by the actions of the motorist. ?We stopped at a red robot in the right hand lane on the Bottalary Road when things got out of hand. The motorist stopped behind in a white ?bakkie? and he started acting strange.?We asked him what his problem was and he came forward with his arm outside the window and he slapped Glynne Moolman while going past him. He went past us and stopped the vehicle in front of us and although I didn?t see it, Chris Willemse jr. just shouted he?s got a gun. I could see him fiddle behind his seat, but I never saw the firearm. ?He got out of the vehicle and as I got close to him, he hit me the fist on the jaw almost causing me to fall. Luckilly I kept my balance and then got the hell out of there,? Wilkins said.Young Willemse said he clearly saw the motorist taking a gun out of a holster. ?When I saw that, I decided that was me and I got out of the situation as quickly as possible. I got the fright of my life,? Willemse said.Wilkins said another motorist got hold of the buch a short while after the incident. ?He said he saw everything and then followed the motorist to a suburban house in Bellville, presumably his home.?After he got hold of us, he took us to the place. He also gave us all his particulars and said he will testify in court as to what he saw. I?ve given his details to the police. Earlier today a detective also contacted me and we went to the place where the incident took place. It was a frightening experience and I hope he can be brought to justice,? Wilkins said. Need I say more...
  13. Chunky, Yes, sometimes I do have something better to do at 2 in the morning other than sitting in font of my PC/LT and reading the shaait you're posting. And for that I don't need an injection or water... As you can see it's just almost 1 and I'm still on the go. And on your case. Twisted and warped? I don't think so! A civil conversation? What's civil about the fact that you are actually destroying young people's lives with the warped ideas you've got. I've got a huge problem with that. Get a grip. The way you're thinking? Nothing else need to be said. You've committed yourself in more ways than one and you should be held accountable for that. Maybe you're a better person than the one selling cocaine on the street corners or in the class rooms, but eventually you're doing exactly the same thing. By my standards, you've lowered yourself to the same level as crayfish ****. Since the first day you started advocating the pro's of using banned substances. Never ever have you said it's bad for you. I honestly hope the day the authorities do get hold of you, you will be as open as you've been on this forum. I've got a sneaky suspicion you'll be singing like a mocking bird once you get tracked down? The message you're sending? Sickening!
  14. You should ask these girls if Chunky wasn't involved! He's so biggggg, after al his experiments
  15. RaodNoob, If you think Chunky is not evil, you should start smelling the proteas! For God sake, please. What's going to happen to our kid's if Chunky will take charge of a selected training squad at Hector Norris Park to "learn" them about the intriquisies (sp) of track cycling. Use and abuse banned substances and fall all over them? Just a question?
  16. The kids might be safer going to a rafe drinking their "safe" water than getting mixed up with you and Chunky. Roadnoob, it sounds to me you must be one of the Chunky-followers. Getting on to the site and proclaiming you're "innocence" after also admitting you've used certain stuff, you're a joke. Are you in cahoots? Giving his cell nr.? By giving his number on a public forum like this, are you looking for something illegal! "Giving a percentage of one to ten, we can make a lot of money from people who don't know what it's actually about". I don't give a living shaait what Chunky has got to say. He's been one of the suppliers for a long time and now suddenly he knows it all. By admission of guilt, as he's said on the Matie website, he should be held accountable for his actions. Unfortunately the CSA don't have the balls to follow it through. Roadnoob, do yourself a favour and get out of discussion ASAP. Chunky has been one the "godfathers" regarding doping. I'm still wondering why? If you want to be assiociated with Chunky, I'd like you to get real with the facts. Remember, under the "Constitution" once you've said something to implicate yourself, you're guilty. Think about it and get the f****ck out of Chunky's discussions. He brought it onto himself. Speaking to Wlhelm de Swardt (Beeld) in private? Do me a favour! Chunky will slip certain names. And believe me, it will accountable to the old riders. No one he has ever supplied them with. And the newspaper will protect him. The COMPETITION should and must be taken out. The newspaper will be so glad to get the drips and drabs from a certain Chunky. If I'm not mistaken about six weeks ago Chunky of all people put a post on this website about the SAPD raiding his place. Why? And he was very "dreungat" to declare they found nothing. Chunky? Next time? Don't get to confident. You're arse is mine and I will catch you. Maybe not tomorrow, next week or next year. You will make a mistake and then I will be all over you like a rash you can't believe. Are you listening? I don't give a living **** how big you are. I know you're big, strong and extremely dumb and dangerous. If you think you can beat the system? Do me a another favour. Your'e arse will get burned. No doubt about it. I wonder what SARS for instance will say about the house you're living in, the car you're driving around etc. etc. You've been running around making claims about you're lifestyle. Have you asked for amnesty about you're dealings and screwings? You can say whatever you want to, but, believe me, I'm going to bring you down. Goliath, don't try and burn me. You should be in jail. Your'e fuc@@@@ing up many sporting personalities lives. You should actually be ashamed of youselve. Challenge: Give me six months And then you will be standing in a court of law. Are you willing to take up the challenge?
  17. Amper vergeet. Maar liewer laat as nooit. Geluk en 'n goeie jaar vir jou.
  18. Mike, I know you're doing a heck of things to promote tandem cycling in SA. And believe me, it must be rated as an extreme-sport. Unfortunately. The days tandem cycling were part of the SA track champs for instance, mindblowing. There can be nothing more serious when you start winding the train up to overtake someone. Especially on the track. Scary! What happened with the entries for SA's this year? I know for a fact know that CSA made provision for tandems. The entries they recieved were far and in between. Why? Please let me know. I personally think tandems deserves a place on the planet. Scary, but exciting.
