  1. Hi guys I have a Cotic simple with a Suntour fork. I'm looking for a 26 " rigid fork disc brake ready. Any idea where I could find one. I knew of this singlespeed online store in SA a while back, but can't seem to remember the URL. Will appreciate the help
  2. I will be doing it on my single speed . Never done the 947 ? Should I be concerned
  3. Where was it exactly ? Do you know what time the incident occurred ? I'm really taken back by this.
  4. My home turf..... Terrible news... I ride through there daily and it's the safest part of my ride. Am I the only one who is starting to get nervous about riding my bike If you are not getting bike jacked then you getting mowed down by something RIP
  5. When free wheeling past someone who needs help I yell " Hey boet, you need a hand ? " Usually by the time they say yes I am like 5 m past them. So that solves that problem.
  6. Mmmmm.... Maybe I should try that. I'm not keen on the effects I get from carbs. I don't have time for headaches and mood swings : ) I wouldn't mind a nice gourmet burger and chips : () Not sure I should release the beast.
  7. Hi guys Need some advice : ) I have been banting strictly for around 10 weeks now. I have lost 9 kg with +- another 10Kg to lose. I have hit a brick wall. I lose a kg then gain a kg. This has been happening for the past 3 weeks... I'm not getting in any hidden carbs and I don't cheat. I probably get in slightly too much protein but that's a wild guess. I have been in ketosis for the last 8 weeks. Should I just be patient ? It's tough to get such great results and then things just grind to a halt out of no where.
  8. I really do prefer riding alone. So I do that 99% of the time. When I'm riding I just like to clear my head and think about krap. When I ride with other people that krap doesn't materialize : ) I try tell people where I'm going and I try stick to busy areas, but sometimes I get a bit adventurous and tackle a open velt when I know I shouldn't. I ride with a ICE ID which is permanently linked to my bike. I have my medical aid membership number, my wifes number, my brothers number and my preferred emergency response number. Hopefully that will be sufficient.
  9. I was packing my bike into my car about 2 weeks ago after a ride at Groenkloof. A young rider approached me in shock asking if he could use my phone. They pushed him off his bike just after the wooden bridge area where you pass the garbage area. They stole his wallet and his cell phone. They then told him to sit down for 5 min till they are gone and to ride straight home. I eventually took the guy home in my car. When leaving the Groenkloof manager stopped me and started questioning the incident. I got the impression that Groenkloof's response was pretty good. They immediately started searching for the suspects out side of Groenkloof. I am of the opinion that the incidents in Groenkloof are the same opportunists... Lets hope they contain them quickly. The youngster who was mugged was riding a 2014 S WORKS EPIC.... They didn't take the bike.
  10. I distribute a couple of products in SA. I have been getting away with using EMS for a good while... I have allot of money stuck in this strike. If anyone knows of someone who would be able to assist me PM me contact details please. I'm willing to pay. What an embarrassment to South Africa
  11. Sorry guys, I had to with draw my sponsorship. I'm buying myself a Epic S-works :ninja:
  12. I bought a new bike a couple of months back. Came with decent components, but I was a bit miff about the deore brakes. I was planning on buying a set of slx the following month. 4 months later and the deore's are still on.... They really are really good bang for your buck. Excellent brakes . Thousand times better than the avids I had on my previous bike. Worlds apart.
  13. Shorter rides I only take a multi tool.... Longer marathon distances I will usually end up taking a camel back along. If not jersey pockets. If I'm riding in a group I usually don't take any spares. At one stage I was putting a tube and a multi tool in my bottle in the bottle because I was even to cool to use water. With shorter distances you can get away with this. However, I'm not that cool anymore because I even use 32GI in my bottles now. My bike is kept in good shape though.... I would say she gets your average work shop basic service every 100km or so.... If you keep your bike in great shape you will rarely need to do any work in the field. That's my experience though. It could be that I have just been majorly lucky. Who knows.... Using a saddle bag is like using a moon bag to me. If I really need to carry anything, I'll take the camel back, but I hate wearing that thing, gives me back pain.
  14. Professionally ? No I'm kidding. Excluding riding as kid, I purchased my first decent bike with a saddle bag in 2008. I like my bike with that clean stock look. No funny bags, mud guards or any other fancy pants stuff : ) Im kind of like this guy :
  15. Whenever I see someone riding with a saddle bag the first word that comes to mind is..... Pfffffff "rookie"!
