  1. nice shot. just a tab bit over saturated. pull back the blues and orange.
  2. Agree with your comments on some of the other shops around Durban, shocking service levels. On the other hand, I have been using Cyclesphere since June when I moved to Durban, and they have been excellent. Friendly bunch of guys, quick turn around time and their prices are really competitive.
  3. Meisho Maru 38 Canon 70D + 10-22, f16, iso160, 1/20sec. Lee Filters
  4. and another from Blyde River Canyon
  5. Sunrise at Warner Beach.
  6. Pied Kingfisher at Mankwe dam, Pilanesberg. Youngster on Madikwe that got very very close.
  7. very nice mood in this, well captured.
  8. Cyclesphere in Kzn.
  9. it is indeed a photographers dream location when the weather plays along. There's a few caves in the area, some only accessible at low tide and also some great elevated view points.
  10. I may have something on my drive at home, will check this weekend but here's something with a wave crashing against it.
  11. From Arniston / Waenhuiskrans in the Overberg.
  12. sorry had to step out to a meeting. My honest opinion, take the para-glider out. The image is well balanced with the mountains on the left and the tree on the right. The clouds fill the centre space and having the para-glider dead centre will probably add "clutter" to the image. If you wanted the glider as your main subject, then it would have been better to get him closer in the frame to the right, but without the tree in the frame.
  13. no competition at all. we all just share a passion. here's something from a while back. Had this photo used on a British Airways advert a few months back. not a great photo so don't know how that happened but anyway, here it is.
  14. where's all the photographers ??
  15. just also done mine. had an error and 3 attempts but it eventually went through.
  16. 70D+10-22, f11, iso160, 2sec 5D3+70-200 f2.8 ll, f3.5, iso1000, 1/3200sec. These are 2 of the 4 brothers on Madikwe, the only Cheetah on the reserve. Was my best sighting of them in a few trips, and the best light 1 could ask for. Have many others from this sighting.
  17. looks like a nice spot... Gaansbaai or Agulhas comes to mind ??
  18. Time... I could do with more of this. Also don't shoot enough anymore, cycling has kinda taken over now...
  19. have to agree here. I got myself the 5D3 last November, the extra AF points really come in handy and more so when you shooting a prime lens. Enjoy the 450D
  20. the problem is that if you want a serious upgrade then its going to cost you serious cash. And then also going full frame would mean an upgrade in lenses for most so it ends up costing you 35-60k. 450D is old, and you would notice a difference in dynamic range for landscapes and noise handling for macro with an upgrade to new tech bodies.
  21. I shoot with the 70D and have used it for some of my best landscape shots. I think you will be happy with the purchase. If you get a double bonus then maybe just go big and get her the 7Dmk2, but that's like twice as much as the 760D. Have seen the prices of the bodies come down in recent months, but it will probably go up due to the ROE. Another thing to look out for, Canon usually has an expo in the first week of December and have some crazy specials for the weekend. They didn't have 1 last year but mentioned that it will go ahead this year and all Canon retailers will sell at the Expo prices so just keep a look out on Orms and ODP for updates during late November.
  22. Have really not looked into the 760D, but at first look it does seem like a well speccd body, and yes the battery life on it looks to be very poor. What does your lady enjoy shooting and what is her max budget like ? If she does a fair bit of her shooting outdoors, then for a little more $$$ the 70D might be a better option. Has some form of weather sealing, and will be a more robust body.
  23. I don't have the exif for this image on my work laptop, but it was shot with a 70D+10-22, Kood Full ND. Bourkes Luck Potholes - 70D+10-22, f8,iso400, 1/100sec, handheld.
  24. my new wheels arrived yesterday . I am now done with buying anything major that cost more than 1k per item.
